Really soft penalty - but that's the way the game has gone.

It's clearly a pen with the rules as they are - he's running at speed and is hip checked. VAR was right not to overturn it, as the angle they actually looked at shows.

I have no interest in how England do, but some of you are really letting your blind hatred colour your judgement on this. There have been far worse decisions than this in the tournament that have drawn far less rage.

It was a correct call, in process. The problem is, the process of how and when VAR is applied is a complete mess. That’s always been one of the biggest flaws with VAR.

A game deciding decision in a semi final is always going to draw more attention than the earlier games. That’s as bad a penalty decision as you’ll see and I’d be saying the same had it been Denmark or anyone else.

The admission from the likes of Shearer that it was soft and you wouldn't be happy if that went against you tells you all you need to know. The process is seriously flawed and not because of this one incident - to be honest there have been far worse in the PL but again this is a big game decided by a flawed process.

The likes of Kane, Sterling and Grealish were looking for any opportunity yesterday to make the most of any contact and go down. They are some of the worst in the league, I criticise them week in week out in the PL, they don't become immune from that just because they are wearing and England shirt. They are able to do this because the system is flawed. These player probably know how to play the system VAR or not, but VAR plays into their hands

Part of the reason I don't support England is because it seems like it would be rather hypercritical to call them dicks/cheats when playing for their clubs but cheering them on the month or so of the year they play for the national side.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I have no particular love for England, but it was a pen IMO.
That’s a dive from every angle. The ball is in front of him, he needs to be to the right of it to get his foot around it and cross, and his left leg is going left towards the defender whilst his body weight is already falling forward. And it wasn’t even his first attempt at diving for a pen in the game. 100% dive and a cheating ****.

Two dive attempts in 3 yards, flappy hands setting the standard

But only if the on field ref awards it, if there is contact and the onfield ref says no pen that is almost impossible to overturn too. There are a massive number of pen given that shouldn't be and some fouls which are far worse which aren't given because of the stupid VAR rules, people want consistency and we aren't getting that, all we are getting is protections for the referees decisions.
