    That's interesting terminology.

I know nothing about the case except for what's been reported, but from what's out there the only potentially unlawful act (other than the fact that the Pilot flew at night when he wasn't qualified to) would appear to be the possibility that a charge was made for commercial gain.

Interesting toxicology from the autopsy revels a possible cause for the crash.

Footballer Emiliano Sala, who died in a plane crash over the English Channel, had been exposed to high levels of carbon monoxide, a report has revealed. Sala and pilot David Ibbotson crashed on 21 January when travelling to Cardiff from the French city of Nantes.

Toxicology tests on Sala's body showed CO levels in his blood were so great it could have caused a seizure, unconsciousness or a heart attack.
Mr Ibbotson, from Crowle, North Lincolnshire, has still not been found.
But it is likely he would also have been exposed to carbon monoxide, the Air Accidents Investigations Branch (AAIB) report said. The plane the Argentine - Cardiff City's record signing - was flying in lost contact with radar near Guernsey.

The Guernsey authorities called off a search after three days, saying there was little chance of finding either man alive. Sala's body, which was recovered from the wreckage of the Piper Malibu N264DB following a privately-funded search, was repatriated to Argentina.

Small comfort for the families I suppose that it's likely they were dead or at least unconscious before they crashed.

Emiliano Sala: Fifa rule Cardiff must pay Nantes £5.3m fee

Cardiff City have been told to pay a transfer fee of £5.3m (6m euros) to Nantes for Emiliano Sala.

A Fifa panel met to rule on a dispute between the clubs, who had failed to reach agreement on settling payment for the striker.

The Argentine, who was 28, died in a plane crash in January while travelling from France to join his new club.

Cardiff had argued they were not liable for the £15m fee because Sala was not officially their player when he died.

I wonder if he was insured by Cardiff or Nantes at the time of the crash.

Cardiff want to appeal this apparently!

                        Pay up Cardiff.

Cardiff City face a three-window transfer ban if they fail to pay Nantes the first instalment of the £15m fee for striker Emiliano Sala.

Seems as though they are hoping for a paperwork timing technicality.

I'm intrigued by the insurance ramifications. Surely that is where this debate sits?

I recall speaking to a guy years ago who worked in Sports insurance, and the policies are vast.

I was thinking about when we send a private jet with the City and LFC layers to Brazil. I wonder who covers the insurance? The club or the Brazilian FA?

I could be wrong but I would assume that the club's insurance would be responsible in these circumstances assuming that the chartered plane met all conditions of the insurance. I assume that this is the case because the player is registered to us even when playing for (and travelling to/from) their international team.

The questions in this case arose because it was unclear (or rather there was some dispute over) who the player was registered to.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I imagine none of the insurers would have wanted to pay, and its they who probably wanted clarification.
