VAR has been a massive letdown for me. Clear and obvious diving should be punished harshly, and if they can't decide an offside in 10 seconds, the advantage should go with the attacker.

I wasn't even bothered about England a month ago, but the fume on here and in Wales has pushed me into backing them more than ever. I'm absolutely sick to death of the same people posting the same anti english ****e, "ingerlaand", "knuckle draggers", "hooligans", "racists", its just a constanst stream of negativity.
Nobody on here has said any of that though (knuckle draggers etc)

But I’m all for people supporting their country. If you are English, you should be well chuffed this morning. Your country is in a final - that almost never happens.

But, for the most part there are a lot of Irish, Welsh and Scots who post on here also. Natural rivals of England so probably don’t expect too much support from them, because as closest rivals that isn’t going to happen.

For my part I went to school on the Channel Islands so most of my school friends are English, and, if England do win I will be genuinely delighted for. I’m in a WhatsApp group with them which is my own personal purgatory, but it was a good laugh with some of the banter last night. Does this mean I will be supporting England and enjoying the theatrics and diving? Not a chance. That’s how rivalries work.

There is an element of the England support that is totally undesirable, but by this stage they are drowned out as the rest of the nation gets involved.

Enjoy it mate, but don’t solely enjoy it because people from other countries don’t want England to win. Enjoy it because you are English and you have a chance of winning a final

No, work away lad. I think its important to remember theres plenty of decent England fans who are quite rightly caught up in the tournament progress, and fair play.
I think most fans/onlookers are put out by the other element, which to be fair, is probably sizable enough in comparison to other finalists, certainly given the attendance numbers at Wembley, giving a somewhat unsavoury impression (booing the entire anthem of another country...who does that ). But they are still just a minority, with everyone else just getting behind their country's progress.

Frankly, I want Italy to win just primarily because of Rio Ferdinand and his interminable carry-on, and I'm making no apologies for that. Unfortunately, that overrules any sort of well wishing I'd like to give Henderson (especially seeing as how he's not a fixture right now).

Theres an unsavoury element no doubt, but a minority as you say, unfortunately a small group can make loud noises. I'm not opposed to every home nation hoping for an Italy win, thats what makes competition great. In fact, I'd think it a little odd to be supporting England. Its the other side that annoys me, the generalisation of all england fans based on the behaviour of a minority. We wouldn't accept for our fans at LFC so shouldnt participate in it elsewhere.

I actually feel very sorry for the majority of England fans who struggle to get that connection. And the holligan element has definitely taken so many headlines over the years.

The home nations rivalry is so important, its a shame we dont get the home nations cup like we did in the 80's. Though now adays it is perhaps a logistical nightmare. Most of it is bourne out of the fact that there is a dominant party, and it has ever been thus.

I used to get loads of mates saying, why dont you support England, we would support Scotland if it was you.

            A. It never is.
            B. I dont want the backing of loads of England supporters should we ever get a moment to celebrate.
            C. Its a rivalry, thats kind of how these things work!!!

Yeah, **** England (my country), so by extension, **** the England team. I feel no connection with them, they aren’t my team.

He is definitely building up for something.

It is as if he cannot help himself. He makes some great saves, and has been really good (tbf) in the tournament, but you cant avoid the sense that part of his subconscious is desperate to get some headlines.

He was at fault for the Danish goal last night.

Good freekick but it wasn't into the corner. It was entirely saveable.

Am Irish and do not really care one way or another if England win or lose as don't have any strong feeling for or against them.

Think for me to feel any rivalry for the English football team there would have to be a semi decent Irish national team. Right now the natural footballing rivals for the ROI team are giants of the game like North Macedonia.

Come the weekend I can happily sit on the fence and in game lean towards whichever team is playing the better football or being the bigger ****houses.

I do want to see Pickford **** up in some way or another though and find a way to come out of it as public enemy number one even if Engalnd win the final.

That free kick, and the danish "false wall shuffle" was great, more teams will use that

Id love to see the camera angle so we can see what that looked like from the goalies perspective.
