100% and he won’t be the only one in the squad that is carrying that weight.

I was absolutely over the moon for Scotland. The first time I met one of my closest friends was in a bar with my new girlfriend at the time (now Mrs C) and he was off to France in a rented camper van to join the tartan army. I have this vivid memory of holding his tickets for the opening game in Paris against Brazil.

It a sad reflection of English football when the other home nations and Ireland all bring me infinitely more joy than my home nation does.

Possible but unlikely - 4 teams from the 16 will go through. Pot 1 vs pot 4 in an open draw with one leg and pot 1 at home. Pot 2 vs pot 3 in an open draw with one leg and pot 2 at home.

Then the winners from the first section will be drawn against the winners from the second section in an open draw and first out has home advantage

Apparently there is a chance Wales and Ireland could be drawn against each other in the playoffs. I really hope that doesn’t happen.
