Russia, Saudi, Japan and South Korea are lower ranked teams than Panama. And the Tunisia game was a comfortable win if refereed property. But yes, we haven't played anyone who should be a threat and haven't looked particularly good in either game so far. But then we have a crap team on paper with the worst squad in living memory so are doing alright in the circumstances. But it hasn't really started yet.

Panama and Tunisia are definitely far worse teams than Russia, SK and Japan, the Saudis are on about the same level.

I think this England team are in a far better place than most have been over the last few years, helped by travelling without any egos.

But the hype is so far without any foundation and the thing that they had gong for them is now being used as a foundation for the hype ('can this team of inexperienced players go on and win...') and the tournament has exposed how easy the group was for England and Belgium, the rankings work to a point, but because the teams from different continents don't play each other they aren't much more than indicative.

I don't blame the payers or the coach, it is the media.
