I didn't watch the game, but just saw about how empty the ground got in the second half. I imagine alot of the Qatari’s are just there because it's a big event in the country and not because they like football. One of the big things for me about teams hosting the World Cup is the passion and atmosphere that the home fans create no matter how well or badly their team do on the pitch. That seems to be something that is missing here based on what I saw. For me that is a big thing, I know you could argue you don't just want to host the WC where there is a massive passion for the game, FIFA want to grow the game etc, but surely there are enough countries in the world who if they were lucky enough to host a WC would show some interest and get behind their own side even if they are ****.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Our captains might not be wearing them as FIFA's paymasters don't like it. But we will take a knee.
Every day just seems to bring yet another broken promise by the joke host country and the joke football organisation that is supposedly running the WC.
When Infantino came out with his European comments, that should have been the cue for all the European countries to pull out of the tournament enmasse and tell FIFA that if they wanted to sanction them that they wil stay out of any FIFA competitions in the future.
Not a hope FIFA would go after all the European big guns if they were acting together.
Just wait until Suadi get a world cup in 2030 or 2034 and the same **** can start again and probably the same calls for a winter WC.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness
Was anyone expecting anything different, FIFA have had months to sort this out, the armband has been discussed for months. They have adopted the same tactics as Qatar did with the beer, leave it to the last minute and then no discussions or negotiations can take place. FIFA are spineless in standing up to Qatar and morally bankrupt

It is a bit disappointing our multimillionaire footballers just dont come out wearing them as a "**** you". I am sure if one team took a stand more would follow. Everyone just wants to get paid though.
Although props to the Iranian dude who came out supporting the women in Iran.
Would be just me. Nev, also known in these parts as Birdy, (on the left of the pic as you look at it), will not be joining me and Perkins I made Scottish last week so he is out.
Not sure about the rest of the Irish on here. Frank The Tank, Piggy, Angry Red or is it Brightred or maybe both ending in red are Irish.
Its such a weak gesture anyway, like anyone even notices
"When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey
If the players really wanted to make a statement gesture then they could do a group goal celebration similar to the gazza dentist chair.
This time it would be a player being held down on his knees and the goal scorer walking up with a pretend sword and beheading him.
Too subtle, but will certainly get the message out there, and I doubt fifa could do **** all about it.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
Nations and players pulling out of the World Cup was the only answer !
That would have been the ideal.
Go and have your corrupt world cup, but if all main European and south American nations pulled ut it would be worthless and then the sponsors and TV companies would turn away from fifa.
