Can someone help me with this one?

I was telling my boys that I remember a world cup goal where the ball squeezed through the side netting. I think one of the teams was Brazil, maybe
My problem is that I can't find any record of it, anywhere.
    Am I just imagining it?

Nowadays yes, I think adding a descriptor is valid as the pundits are split almost 50/50...so if it was the fellas being bland and generally crap, you would also have to qualify the statement to say 'these male commentators are a bit ****" as well, otherwise no one will know who you refer to.

Not sure specifying gender, either way, is necessary? Surely just "these commentators are a bit ****"?

In fact just shut up whinging all together

I don’t think that’s happened in an international game. The famous one was Stefan Kiessling for Leverkusen.

To be fair, when Alex Scott started commentating there was widespread praise. She's still a very good watch and listen, especially compared to some of the fringe male commentators like Martin Keown, Alan Smith, Merson, Jenas and Michael Owen

I don't really care to be honest, just get better commentators and pundits no matter what their gender

Leave Owen out of this, I find his comments quite insightful (especially when he talks about striker movement and finishing etc) but I will admit he needs to work on his tone a bit, liven it up. The others on your list are terrible male commentators I agree, and I can't believe you missed out McMananananaman.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Even if it were as clear cut as you say these women are operating in an environment that has been dominated by men since football was televised. Their comfort within the surroundings will not be absolute. You can always find another male ex pro willing to offer an opinion the pool of women who have spent a career within the game is smaller - so it is fantastic to see women being given parity when offering an opinion on such a big stage, quality is irrelevant and I am pretty sure is not the issue you suggest it is.

Change sex for race, would it be ok to slaughter the first black football presenter who was broadcasting at a World Cup if they seemed to less comfortable breaking through that barrier? Or the first woman to vote ‘what would she know’?. As soon as women break into a male dominated environment they are written off in exactly the way you are doing here. Change has to start somewhere and I am all for it.

Women have had to fight upwards across society and throughout history it is the instant put down that stops women progressing as men would from the second they begin to break through.
Eh yeah, nobody is writing women off

We are talking about very well paid male & female football pundits. There not doing laboring, farming or working in mines ffs. All they do is sit in a nice warm studio and talk about a game of football i'd give my right bollock to be paid to do that. That is all they do & if you are doing that and putting yourself out there whether it be male or female, guess what ... you will be open to scrutiny and criticism just like the lads.

Are the likes of Gabby Logan, Kelly Dalglish etc new to the scene, have I missed something? I thought they have been around for years and have been very well received? They have set the standard for women in football broadcasting. Alex Scott is another that is a good listen and has also being well received.

For me, they are the standard & have been great representatives for women on the scene, most of the other female pundits imo have been sub standard to put it mildly, especially recently. I just see it as nothing more than box ticking by the big broadcasters to avoid a lack of diversity /inclusivity backlash. Unfortunately when you do that & you have to have "x" amount of "x" you run the risk of a drop in quality. I personally don't care if they are men, women, black, white, blue, gay, straight etc. it doesn't matter, just do better. I am a paying customer, if I am paying big money to watch a show, I expect better. Same goes for some of the male pundits, do better it's simple as that. If a male pundit is commentating on a female dominated sport like netball, gymnastics or cheerleading instead of a female pundits ... don't be ****.

We pay big money to watch these sports channels & expect a certain standard that is often not delivered. Most of us have been saying this about alot of the male pundits for years Richards, Jenas (I am obviously writing black people off) Owen, Hamman etc. There is more women new to the scene, great. Just be better than the dudes you replace.

You don't care about equality? Not sure where to go from here tbh.

Surely me holding female pundits to the same standards as their male counterparts is equality?

There are some **** pundits. Some are male and some are female.
It's not sexist to point out if a particular female is rubbish. Too many flag wavers

common sense. Few of the usual lads on a weird crusade.

Eni Aluko is **** = OK opinion
All women commentators are shrill, whiny, and dull = A cunts opinion.

You can't be that ****ing stupid to not be able to tell the difference. To think it is a weird crusade not to hate on someone because of what set of ****ing genitals they have is utterly moronic. You're better than that. And if you're not, you need to improve as a person

A blacked up, Myra Hindley in an SS uniform would be preferable to Danny Murphy.
