Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Maybe we should just pipe down a little bit about how good he will be for us, and also lay off the ah..forget it....it's not worth the hassle.

      Please continue...

What difference does that make? I haven't seen much of Hayden Mullins either but I've seen enough to say he'll never be better than alonso.

No. Nobody knows how good he will be for us so it's pointless to argue about it. I just pointed out that he has the potential to be a fantastic signing.

No! You said if he settles we WOULD have a player as good or better than Alonso, implying that you do know how good he is going to be.

It would be much easier to read your posts if you didn't imply that you know the future all the time.

I think we won´t get the chance to compare them anytime soon since Javier M. will not play for Liverpool this season.
              * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Got to say that I agree with that. Why on earth would Fifa change their rules to suit a certain club or player. If they do it for one club then they'd have to do it for all the clubs.

Just read the piece about Mascherano in the mirror this morning, and to me it looks like a great deal for us if we can pull it off.

A loan deal til the end of the season with the option of a £6m permanent move afterwards seems a steal for such a talent. It puzzles me as to why he hasn't settled and played much for West Ham this season as, from what I've seen of him when playing for Argentina, he looks a class act - and was rumoured to be chased by many of the top teams last season with fees approaching 20m being mentioned.

What's gone wrong for him at West Ham has stumped me, and I just cannot understand why such a talent hasn't been a regular with them.

If we can get FIFA to sanction the deal then it will have been great business, however, I do worry what lies ahead for Gerrard in Rafa's mind. What we have achieved since Stevie's gone back into the centre of midfield has been just great, and you can see that his own game has improved greatly, as well as the team's, with him dictating play from the centre in every game. With Sissoko due back in the coming month and the thought of Mascherano adding to our midfield options it looks increasingly likely that Rafa will move Gerrard out wide or to a more advanced role once again, which in my opinion will not get the best out of him thus not getting the very best out of the team at the same time.

But with a talent like Mascherano looking to be available on the cheap and at a steal I don't blame Rafa for looking at that option, just a shame that it may come at a cost on the pitch - I hope I'm wrong.

Are you suggesting that FIFA are incorruptible, high-principled, unswerving guardians of the game?

                          It's an original idea certainly.
                          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

This signing will probably mean Steven Gerrard on the right for the rest of the season which is very sad in my opinion. It may signal the end of his LFC career if it pans out that way.
really hope this does'nt happen because i don't think its been a coincedence that are form picked up when stevie was brought into the centre. I personally think rafa wants him as quality cover for alonso or stevie so he can give them a rest nearing the games against barca!
I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.

I'm not sure wat you're emplying there, Neil. Perhaps behind closed doors they may be but to publicly bend their owns rules would set a precedent that Fifa would not be happy with IMHO.
