    O'Neill plans Bellamy bid.

Martin O'Neill has enquired about Craig Bellamy’s availability and is ready to test Liverpool with an offer for their £6million summer signing from Blackburn.

The Aston Villa manager has earmarked the Wales striker’s pace as the extra ingredient his side need up front and made his interest known to Liverpool counterpart Rafa Benitez.

If he receives any encouragement from Benitez, O’Neill will follow up with a bid of £9million that would be supplemented by add-on payments.

It is understood Benitez woud only be tempted to cut short Bellamy's Anfield career if he could recruit a suitable replacement before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Tottenham's Jermain Defoe and Charlton's Darren Bent have both been linked with Liverpool, but it appears unlikely a signing could be made in time for O'Neill to land his prime attacking target.

The former Celtic boss is desperate for an injection of pace in his front line after frequently having to turn to 20-year old winger Gabriel Agbonlahor to fill in as a striker.

He is now waiting for a reply from Liverpool after sensing that Bellamy, who finds it difficult to accept Benitez's rotation policy, might welcome the chance of a regular starting place.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Im not sure where all this is coming from but its starting to do my ****ing head in. Wonder who's stirring it because I really dont think its us wanting rid.

Dave Usher said all the Crouch stuff recently has been down to his agent and hes even getting him to bring out an autobiography. Now we're getting more rumours with Bellamy, does my head in

If we cant sign the bloke from West ham because he has played for 2 clubs in a year, then surely they cant sign Bellamy?

Good call, the agents are prob aware they could earn more weeklies elsewhere being top dog in a small pond, which in turn increases the agents payoff no doubt, for one didn't Bellamy turn down a higher wage from Blackburn to join us?

Think the rule is july-june or something and Masherano played for Corinthians after the world cup whereas Bellamy didnt play for Blackburn after. Kromkamp has moved from AZ to Villareal, Villareal to us, us to PSV in succesive tranfer windows. So basically Mascherano cant move (at the minute anyway) because he played a few games for his club in their League after the world cup, how stupid is that?

I think that Bellamy will stay until Villa is available.

I think that it's paper talk. It's ony recently that we've started to see what Bellamy can offer us as a team and I must admit that I've started to warm to him. I don't think that Rafa would want to sell as he will have been impressed with Bellamy's contribution in recent weeks.

I also think that Bellamy should've payed some part in Saturdays match but what do I know?

I agree. I wonder why Rafa never used him at any stage on Saturday, was he injured?

I reckon it was because Crouch got an assist for Kuyt then after that they just sat in their penalty area giving no room for his best assest his pace.
