The worrying thing for me with all these comments about "our strikers aren't good enough" is that Rafa signed them all, and Morientes.

Is Rafa any good at spotting a decent striker? I'm not sure he is.

Maybe he was hoping that Robbie would be as good as etc, and proved not to be, he now needs only to replace one striker, although as it turns out, it will be the main striker, the three secondary strikers all have different attributes, link by using energy between middle & front, speed/movement & link by hanging around the 18 yeard box and bringing others in, we can only hope he gets the next signing spot on!

We will never know because he's never told us who his first choicers were. No-one put a gun to his head to sign any of them though.

Nobody can say Rafa has regretted signing Crouch. Nando didn't come off but in all honesty £6m for him was a risk worth taking as he is a fantastic player. Bellamy is starting to show what he can do, and Kuyt looks to be an excellent signing to me. Rafa tried to sign David Villa before he went to Valencia but he wasn't interested in moving to England. Based on all of that I'm not especially concerned that Rafa isn't that good at signing the right strikers.

Kuyt is an awesome striker. he gets assists and goals. How anyone can say he is not a top striker is beyond me. so he does not have the flair of Henry or Rooney, but neither does Drogba. If 6 months ago you would have said you have squad with Shevchenko and Drogba, and you would prefer Drogba how stupid would it sound?

Kuyt is just as difficult to play against as those other strikers, if not more.

He did try to get Villa before he signed for Valencia (Villa, not Rafa...).

if we could get 12mill for Crouch and 9mill for Bellers we could concievably get Villa....but i would prefer Klose. He has technic, power, pace and links up play well..he is alos one of the best headers of the ball in football. I seem to remeber him having a clause in hs contract that allows him to leave for 10mill or somthing around that mark.

Replace Crouch with Klose and try get SWP for 10mill i say

                      Bellamy Off?

Was mentioned on TalkSport and I see it in the Mail, Bellamy possibly off to Villa for £6m.

He's the only striker who has something different upfront, creativity, pace and unpredictability.

If he goes we're easier to read than a very open book with a large font...in bold.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Gonna merge this with the existing "Bellamy on his way" thread.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Cheers again! I had a scan through but missed the other Bellamy post, must be too early.

im with sirbob on this one i think all of our strikers are good enough but none of them are 20 league goals or more type of striker are they. they are all imo 2nd tier strikers. i fail to see th epoint in selling any of them this january and dont think it will happen .
if any of them go it will be crouch and then only if we have someone lined up to replace him of a higher standard, far too early for the other 2 to go especially as has been mentioned bellamy is only now finding his feet and starting to look dangerous.
Parry is a clown. En Rafa que confiamos

Bellamy is going nowhere. Rafa loves his pace and agression. He is clearly improving and given them statistics, we would be mad to sell.
Bellers only said recently (in the past week) that he is loving it at anfield.
I cant see us getting rid any time soon. Rafa will not dilute his possibilities like that anyway at this stage of the season.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Why would we get rid of Bellamy. He's been ace since his court case finished. You can slag off his overall season performance, but he's kicked his form up a notch and looks like the most threatening of our strikers. It would be mad to bin him.
