      Sorry lads.
I'd take £9 for him - completely out of his depth 90% of the time. There could be some truth in the rumour of him leaving though. After all, a manager/club of our stature doesn't spend £6m on a main striker who's only real attribute is being able to run quite fast. His purchase was definitely a stop gap until some serious funds became available. Fingers crossed he's on his way!

He's not out of his depth at all I don't think. He's done well since his trial was over. He's not a machine, things like that weigh on your mind and affect your form.

defoe is a much better player, not as good as owen, but ultimately his finishing is better than bellamy's and that is what really matters at the end of the day for a striker.

            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I disagree. Defoe is the sort of player who looks good on highlight shows because 1 in every 10 shots of his goes in. He's actually pretty selfish and doesn't link up that well.

Agreed. Don't rate Defoe at all. I'd be amazed if Rafa ever signed him as he's similar to Cisse in so many ways. Not what we need AT ALL.

In all fairness though, he can finish pretty tidily on occasion. Then again, so can Bellamy. Certainly not worth trading in my opinion. I still expect Bellamy to come good.

I think we are at our best when we play Kuyt and Bellamy up front. As such I think it is the other strikers who should be looked at in terms of being moved on. Bellamy has added a lot to our attack in recent weeks (the game against Arsenal being excluded as part of a horrific nightmare for all of us) and there is absolutely no way Rafa would sell him at the minute in my opinion.

Removing Fowler from the equation as he isn't picked for league games from the start, pairing any 2 of the remaining 3 "strikers" still does not offer a goal threat in front of goal, they are all "hard workers" who do a damned good job supporting each other, but I would like them to support a striker who is a danger in the pen area, one who the defenders are wary of and have to double up on marking him thus creating space to be exploited by others.
