Over-reaction? I think so

Exactly mate. I still don't see how his kids can do it when our men can't.Originally posted by Howard_lfc View PostIt was surreal mate. I wanted to leave at half time also.
But take nothing away from Arsenal. They were superb. Their movement, athleticism and short inter-passing was a joy to watch...........but after a while like most good things it bacame sickly! IMO it simply reinforces that for me Wenger is the best manager in the league.

Whatever way you dress it up, you can't over-react to a 6-3 defeat at home, or even a second loss at home in 4 days, or even 9 goals conceeded in 2 games at home.
Anyone who went last night should be offered a refund, it would probably add up to less than the players weekly wage.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

Over-reaction - probably not...
Over-reaction is something you get when you get beaten by the odd goal and maybe didn't deserve it and then people go overboard without good reason - we were walloped last night and it really doesn't matter whether it was the Carling cup or some sunday league trophy - that was Liverpool out there and the manner of our defeat must hurt every supporter. The fact that some supporters reacted by calling for Rafa's head is probably more justified after the 4 days we have just had than at any time previously - I don't agree with this viewpoint, but i can understand why people feel this way.
To get beaten 6-3 and not react would require a serious lack of passion for the club, passion for LFC is something that I believe most posters on here display - no-one can tell me that last night didn't hurt bad. Yes, calling for Rafa's head is ludicrous, but you can hardly say 'Well done lads' and I don't think that Rafa can be beyond criticism either.
If two heavy defeats in 4 days, were we were unceremoniously dumped out of both domestic cup competitions, is not the trigger for over-reaction from numerous posters then I would suggest that the majority of our posters are not human.
As a club we need to move on, but this must act as the watershed - mistakes must not be repeated the way they have been recently, otherwise Rafa will undo a lot of his own good work and his tenure will increasingly be questioned by those looking for perfection in an imperfect world, but the humiliation of the past few days will live long in many a supporter's memory.

ahhh well getting into the top 3 is quite important to me...im sure it is to the club aswell....much more important than winning the CCOriginally posted by alunevans View PostWhat's our bigger domestic fish to fry?
We also have a massive game against Barca coming up in a month, which is in a little comp called the champions league...we've won it five times dont you know"When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

Suppose you could send it c/o LFC.Originally posted by mooha View PostHow can I get in touch with Rafa?
I want to send him a 'cheer-up' card.
Call me anything you want, but this result was down to UNBIELIEVaBLE luck for the Arse and an Argie having a hangover.
Don't we have a song for Speedy?
Why on earth was he lying on the ground in severe pain, breathing oxygen, for 6 minutes, and all I could hear on the TV was the crowd singing "in Istanbul...5 times".
Same goes for little Louis!
Forget this 'fluke de bizarre' and walk on!
You're wrong about Gonzalez and Garcia. The crowd sang out Luis' song when he was injured and they were also chanting Gonzalez's name when he was down.

Please cut the sarcasm mate, its annoying and not like you. Surely we can discuss things without the "little comp called the champions league" tone.Originally posted by Harveybirdman View Postahhh well getting into the top 3 is quite important to me...im sure it is to the club aswell....much more important than winning the CC

The Champs League is not a domestic fish to fry and is anyhow in about 5 weeks time so I'm not sure of the relevance to the Carling Cup at this stage.
As to finishing 3rd being more important than winning something, I don't see that. Any LFC manager should be top 4 MINIMUM as Moores once said when sacking Ged. He shouldn't have to sacrifice trophies in order to get that. Nor should it be encouraged.
As far as I'm concerned, I'll look back and remember when we won the League Cup each time, but I won't sit round when I'm old and think ahhhh remember that year when we won **** all and came 3rd. Ultimately thats what it boils down to. For me anyhow.

Yep, wholly unimaginative though. Gonzalez got the same old same old players chant, the one reserved for luminaries such as “Eeeeeeeeemile Heskey!”, and “Jeeeerzy Dudek”….and, er, “Xabi Alonso!”.Originally posted by JHP View PostSuppose you could send it c/o LFC.

Indeed Roy Evans's entertaining pass and move teams never finished outside the top 4 and were usually in the top 3, however he was ultimately undermined by the apointment of Houllier. The fact is, Roy just didn't win enough competitions.Originally posted by alunevans View Post

Thats fair enough on your part. Some people obviously hold the CC in high regard......im being honost here....i dont. Ive never gloated to my mates when wwe have won it, it just doesnt seem the right thing to do.....when we won the champions league though.....i sung YNWA at the top of my voice to anyone that would listen.

we are at a stage in the premiership were it takes a record breaking season to win the damn thing. in the 90's it was just Utd....now though you have to beat Utd still, and Arsenal, and now chelsea have jumped onto the scene.
