Neill to sign today?

Blackburn skipper Lucas Neill will today sign for Liverpool according to reports over the weekend.

Blackburn have given up their quest to keep Neill at Rovers and a deal was struck over the weekend that will see Steven Warnock move in the opposite direction.

Neill will be a free agent in the summer and the Lancashire club had finally resolved themselves to obtaining some fee for the player rather than risk losing him on a free at the end of the season.

Despite interest from other Premiership clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, Neill has always indicated that Anfield was his preferred target.

Id like to see him play good cause i like the lad gives 100% crunching tackles for the cause

Warnock always gives 100% but he's nowhere near good for us. No top side would have Warnock in their squad and that's why Rafa doesn't play him and wants to get rid.

When he came back from his successful spell at Coventry, I thought he had some potential. He played pretty well for us subsequently and, a touch fortunately maybe, got in the England squad. Been all downhill since then though.

You're right, he's not good enough for us. I'm quite sorry about it really, as he's a likeable bloke (seemingly) and a likeable player with an admirable, wholehearted attitude. Shame it's not worked out for him and I wish him very well in the future.
