Chilli. Bottom line is we can list a number of South American players that Premiership clubs have been gald to have had on their books, but you can list few South American signings that clubs have lived to regret.
In any case, just applying a general trend to an individual is the rationale of the ignorant - we should be looking at his attributes as an individual to judge him, not assuming he is the same as others just because he is the same nationality.Like blood on iron

This thread is hilarious . Chilli mate , you are accusing people of having no idea and guessing about how good Mascherano could be when you haven't seen him play yourself . What the hell is that about ? There have been some great players from South America in the English leagues as mentioned above . Fair enough if you don't think he will be good enough , but you can't give other people **** for thinking the opposite when you know as much as them .
Besides all that , I hope we sign Mascherano as he is world class (in my opinion - never having properly watched him play) . At the start of the season all the big teams in Europe wanted him . WHU got him because of behind the scenes business dealings . He is first choice in the middle for Argentina for God's sake - not El Salvador . You can't tell me that he has suddenly lost all his ability in 6 games . You my son are dreaming . I reckon he just doesn't fit in at WHU for whatever reason and wants to move because of it . I would love to see him in our shirt . In fact I reckon Mascherano is Molby Mark 2 ."Every time i sit around i find i'm shot."

The reason to why he didn't get a fair chance by West Ham....
West Ham started the season in a very bad way so they couldn't afford to give Mascherano the time he needs to settle in.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think its got more with the fact that he and Tevez were brought in under dodgy circumstances. Due to the failed takeover attempt the new owner doesnt want taht **** hanging over the club.Originally posted by AFII View PostThe reason to why he didn't get a fair chance by West Ham....

from all reports they have settled at the club well, and train well.
somethings majorly amiss. You dont just let a player of Mascherano's ability leave."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

that don't make sense either cause he didn't play at all before the new owner, up untill january javier has had a very great attitude towards west ham in the press, always talking about trying to adapt play for the team, work harder, and yet even if he did so he got nowhere. why is it that west ham fans don't want him to go? they say that he works hard both at practice and those few games he's had, why are liverpool and juventus (now dropped out) after this player, cause he's class...Originally posted by Harveybirdman View PostI think its got more with the fact that he and Tevez were brought in under dodgy circumstances. tevez was sometimes the best man on the pitch yet he couldn't get a game the week after, and javier never got going, and i think he realised that he never would, west ham seem to know this and are not holding him back for this move, if he won't come here he'll rot away for the rest of the season at west ham, but it wont be for lack of effort..."I have decided to escape, to defy the shogun. i think the problem arose from when PArdew said JM wasnt the player West ham needed to get them out of there troubles. I think JM has probably got pissed off and rightly so.
Mascherano is an absolute world class talent of that there can be few arguments but will he adapt to the premiership it surely is worth a risk?
Although he has never scored a goal EVER in professional football, do we need another non goalscoring midfielder??_____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?

I hate it when people assume football history started when the Premiership was created.
This is what Sky would have you believe, unless they are covering the FA Cup, then it's OK to mention history prior to 1992.Oh I don't know.

I think we will have the best central midfielders in the world if Javier comesI think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. I´m sure of it too, a lot of coaching staff and the players speak spanish which could help him settle in and our playing style could suite him better I think and he would suit our playing style very well also. Match made in heaven.Originally posted by sean_lfc View PostRafa will get the best out of him, of that I'm sure.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
