Thanjk you.

Assuming that document is true, then probably not. But DIC said numerous times since it was leaked that they had no plans for selling the club. Again that could be spin, I dont know.
DIC had someone as part of their bid who was a genuine fan. Parry seemed quick to point out DIC were fans and understood the heritage of the club. As far I know neither Gillett or Hicks are Liverpool fans, or know anything about the club. Doesn't that concern you about what their motivation is, what they might do at the first sign of trouble? I'd sooner trust someone who has the club at heart than someone who doesn't
right ok,
I wanted DIC (again no puns). I wasnt really concerned about the document at the time. I still think they probably would be better for us. Dont know why, just a gut instinct. BUT I am not worried about two non fans coming on board. If anything it may help drive the club forward.
By that I mean, no nonsense business development which is something LFC havent really got under a sentimental chairman.
Liverpool may change. We simply dont know but for the club to go forward, we need a fresh look. Perhaps these guys will get it right.
"What's your favourite Beatles album then?"
"I think I'd have to say....Best of the Beatles"
I'm liking kopdan's enthusiasm and optimism this morning!! We were all gutted when DIC pulled out but if we are getting Gilett (and its still an 'if') then we are just going to have to get over it and move on and look to the future.
We are getting our stadium and (hopefully) moving the club forward. I am prepared to give the new owner a chance.
**** it - its Friday, its sunny, I am getting drunk tonight and we are beating Everton tomorrow!!
I think we are looking at an interesting future.

I don't understand how people can slate this deal, yet pronounce the Arabs as our saviours, when in reality they know **** all about either deal. Yes, The club had been saying how good the DIC deal would be, but things can change pretty quickly.
Yes, but on the other hand people are accepting this deal without knowing anything about it. People are too happy to go along with the attitude "Parry and Moores, they're fans, they know best". Well I dont trust them, and I have questions about this deal, which until answered, I retain my prerogative to be sceptical about it.
Kopdan says we know Gillett offered a better deal than DIC, truth is we dont know anything substantive about Gillett's bid except that it is more lucrative for shareholders. What else do we know for sure that makes this deal better for the club?

ok, perhaps I shouldnt have said "know"
But the deal obviously interests Moores and Parry

It's in Gillett's best interest not to **** this up too, funnily enough. LFC has an excellent habit of getting into your blood and not letting go.
As long as he can prove that the funds are in place to build the stadium (vital), that there will be zero involvement in the team affairs, that decent money is available for player investment, and that they have some great ideas and abilities to sort the Marketing Shambles out, then I'm probably all for it.
Hicks probably made the difference. Gillett wasn't rich enough himself so he got someone to back him up.
They know how to run a sport club so I'm happy if they takes over the club.
All this doom and gloom.Listen guys,it's not as if we are in some kind freefalling decline, hanging on to our prem status by thin threads. Why should it matter if it's the arabs or the americans investing in our club.As long as the investment is there and the best interest of the club is at heart, which i trust David Moores hole heartedly in assuring.
We were european champions only 18 monthes ago, have the best manager leading the team and have the best footballer in the world at the heart of it.We have a squad,imo,2 players short of challenging truly for the title. We not doing to badly at the moment without investment.I truly feel that the stadium issue is the most important factor in all of this to push us to the next level.
I think many fans had this perception that the arabs would come in and bankroll the club ala Chelski, with wish lists of ronaldinho, kaka,Torres and the like. That was never going to happen and i for one didn't really want that.
If this deal with Gillet goes through,it will be a major move for us to push us on and i for one am really excited about this. It's not selling our soul to the yanks but merely spreading our wings further than they have been before. No such thing as bad publicity and us being in the news and the talk of all the major financial companies can only raise our profile.
Patience is the key i believe, lets see what will happen.
