I think he will do ok at Charlton. A lot less will be expected of him and he will be under less intensive scrutiny. They will think they got a good deal at £2 million, Charlton is probably his level. Playing at the highest level however is not something Traore ever looked comfortable with, I'm relieved he's gone.

Ultimately, not good enough, but gave it his best.
Don't know how anyone can look past Diouf as the worst signing Ged made, personally. Contributed **** all for £10M and is a little gob****e to boot.
Agreed, one of a very few signings that we have made a " profit " on.
Average player who tried to make the best of his limited ability. Djimi should be allowed to continue the rest of his career in the knowledge that he should get the respect of all reds supporters.
Hope he gets a decent reception when charlton visit anfield this year, also hope he does his usual clanger per game that allows us to score from.

Couldn't agree more. Djimi always looked to be one suicidal tackle and penalty kick waiting to happenOriginally posted by REDSCOUSERAs I said Kurt mate it is my opinion. The other two you mentioned are close as well, but I was never confident in Traore going 90 minutes without making a mistake.
His concentration level is not very good. One game springs to mind is the Charlton game at Anfield where he slipped unchallenged outside his 18 yard box and we conceded a goal.
As I said he is NOT LFC material. Good luck to him all the same.
ps: Can anyone drive him to London ?

I particularly liked the way he guided a defensive header straight into the strikers path for their last goal!!Originally posted by CacodemonSouthampton away, years ago - we were 3-0 up until the Traore effect intervened and we shipped 3 late goals....
Djimi could get up in the air - but he had a head like a sherrif's badge

That's not too may so far.
I suppose people will allude to "the Traore effect" whereby his poor positioning and control threw the whole defense into disarray.
I just can't think of too many "bramble and Boumsong" type moments where direct and incontrovertible stupidity and awkwardness allowed the opposition to score.I have five fingers

Charlton at home mate. Djimi tried one of his (in)famous drag-backs on the edge of the box at the Anny Rd end, slipped on his ar$e, lost the ball and Charlton scored. Djimi lay on the ground with his head bowed for what seemed like an eternity afterwards........Originally posted by Peter DelvechioThat's not too may so far.

Ladies and gentlemen we have a winner.Originally posted by CacodemonSouthampton away, years ago - we were 3-0 up until the Traore effect intervened and we shipped 3 late goals....
That was the pits, as far as Traore is concerned. If I remember rightly, that game provided the first piece of evidence that Djimi's head was actually shaped like a fifty pence piece. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
