While people may laugh at the use of terms like "franchise", I did hear them use the terms "side" and "pitch" correctly, so they're getting into it pretty quickly. They haven't bought into the Scum are the Yankess of English football myth. And they know that Everton are ****e.

I think we'll be ok, it seems the way in which the deal has been levereged is similar to the Mancs and the Arsenal stadium deal and these guys seem to be ok and doing well. Gillet and Hicks are talking the talk.
I like the Fact that they did Due Dilligence in 3 days. Made their Bid and got approval in 1 week.

Maybe things will start happening now. They dont seem to mess around

Lets put it this way, noone does business like Americans do. Us Brits are good for blue collar jobs & footy.
So lets stick to what we know best and let the Yanks help our club prosper.

I suppose you hate them for calling it soccer too, eh? Get your head out of your xenophobic arse.

Criticise him when he doesn't support Rafa, not because of the way he speaks.

this is written by lawro and hansen

It all comes under the banner of progress. Liverpool are getting a new stadium, new investment, with the potential for 60,000 people in the new stadium.

Liverpool have to keep up with the likes of Man Utd, who get 76,000 fans for their home games, and with Chelsea and, of course, with Arsenal who have just moved to their new stadium.

For Liverpool to continue in the top four in this country I think it's a necessity for the club to be sold.

Anfield has been Liverpool's home since 1891
The only concern about foreign investors is whether they've got the club at heart.

Fans don't want them to come along and, in five years time, look to sell on.

But Liverpool chairman David Moores has always been of the opinion that it has to be best for the football club. He'd never sell the football club short.

I don't think fans will be particularly bothered who owns the football club as long as they keep it as their football club.

The thing with fans is they just want a successful football team and if that means a foreign owner, it means a foreign owner.

I think the future is bright for Liverpool.

They're about to go to a brand new ground with 60,000 fans, I think there's investment and arguably better use of the brand name - and they are a worldwide brand.

This will help the manager Rafael Benitez buy even better players and help keep them up with Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea and the teams in the Champions League - if not overtake them.

                hansen

The priorities do not change. Get a new stadium to help compete with Manchester United's revenue and Roman Abramovich's money and provide funds for new players.

Regardless of who takes over, all fans want is money for the new stadium and players.

David Moores has been a great chairman. He has given a succession of managers time and money which is the sign of a great chairman.

He feels he cannot take it any further because he cannot finance a new stadium so let's go with his judgement.

There was scepticism about Americans taking over at Manchester United when the Glazers came in, but I can't hear any of that stuff going on now.

There was huge discontent and the breakaway at Manchester United, but I don't hear anything about that now because the club's at the top of the Premiership and everyone's happy about that.

Fans are only interested in who owns a club up to a certain extent. At the end of the day 90% are only interested in what happens on the pitch.
The future you have, tomorrow, won't be the same future you had, yesterday.

They don't understand football & they have no affinity for LFC as a club. Before we know it, we'll be brand LFC. like many Britains i am ante american, it might nt be politically correct but thats the way i feel.
No. Of course they don't know **** all about football. But they know a great ****ing deal about sports and how to make winning teams and how to make money. But really, that comment about them not know anything about football is just asinine.

I don't care if they do want to sell on in 5 years. So long as the stadium is up and the club is run like a self sufficient business what's wrong with selling on?

I'm sure All of us agree that the One thing that has been lacking at our Club is proper Marketing

We have the potential World Wide to be as Big, if Not Bigger than United. I'm sure this is one of the Biggest reasons why our new Owners, decided to invest in Liverpool.

If they can Increase our Marketing World Wide, they will make a Huge Profit on their Investment and we will all be Happy. They must surely realise that the only way their investment will grow is by Liverpool being Succesful again.

And i assume that's what we all want

Just watched their interviews on eseason. They both seemed genuine. Gillet more so. I think he'll be seen more than Hicks at Anfield and the new stadium. Hicks seemed to be me to be the trouble-shooter etc.

That's how I saw it, the money man and the trouble shooter. The one to reign Gillett in if he becomes too flamboyant. Hicks will make sure things are done properly.

Yeah, is seemed to be Gilletts main project, and Hicks was in to provide money and the knowledge of sports management, and not least, building new stadia.

It could just be that Hicks likes to keep a low profile and that Gillett is much better with the media, but still, Hicks did look a bit lost at times.

Hicks did seem genuinely interested in our history....which is nice.
