Where are you getting this from?Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Honestly more worried about us only playing one up. To be honest although not a great player, Zenden will work hard. Whatever team we put out left mid will be our most obvious weak point. I just think that with one up we will find it very hard to retain the ball.Originally posted by simey85 View Postthis is very worring news that zenden will be starting is this correct?
Kuyt and Crouch would be my prefered partnership up top."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

im worried about that aswel though id rather bellamy tonight it would be like him to nick a goal after everything thats happened this week! i have no doubts that zenden would work hard but i feel in a match of this magntude we need something more from players!Originally posted by dww View PostHonestly more worried about us only playing one up. The problem is the injuries we have and the poor form of Gonzalez give us limited options. I think whichever player we play there will be a risk, however Zenden seems better at playing a disciplined role in the team. If it were in the group stages I would have prefered Gonzalez to get a chance to prove he still has what he showed last season, however in this game the stakes are too high, Gonzalez has been given chances in some big matches (notable against United) and so far has failed to show the desire or positional discipline to convince me.Originally posted by simey85 View Postim worried about that aswel though id rather bellamy tonight it would be like him to nick a goal after everything thats happened this week! i have no doubts that zenden would work hard but i feel in a match of this magntude we need something more from players!
On a side note: I wasn't especially excited about this game, until I woke up this morning having a dream of Momo scoring the winner. Now I have an odd feeling we might pull off something special."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

you have a point as gonzalez has looked lightweight in big games! zenden is our only option i hope 2 **** he plays out of his socks tonight!Originally posted by dww View PostThe problem is the injuries we have and the poor form of Gonzalez give us limited options. i dont think rafa will play it too defensively as we will lose if we do. barca will play through us and score if we just sit back and defend. valencia showed at the weekend the way to beat barca is similar to how you beat arsenal by closing them down quickly and attacking keeping the ball in their half as much as possible. we should play two up front (kuyt and bellamy) and go for it.“At a football club, there’s a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don’t come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques”. Bill Shankly

I think he might - though for anyone to try and call Rafa's selection this early in the day is foolhardy, especially if its teamtalk. Anyway, I would ask everyone to remember Igor's performances in the '05 CL campaign that propelled him to legend status despite him being consistently crap in every league game he ever played.
Zenden to score the winner tonight
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?
