gona be a really tough game and will have to keep it tight for the first twenty, though i can see us causing them problems if we go at them their defence is shaky! xavi and deco cant be afforded any space as they supply the ammo to messi ronaldinho and eto!
I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.

          Assuming everyone's fit;

          4-4-2
          Reina

          Finnan
          Carragher
          Agger
          Aurelio

          Gerrard
          Sissoko
          Alonso
          Riise

          Crouch/Kuyt
          Bellamy

Why would he play Mascherano? He's ridiculously short of match practice and fitness and has never played a match for us. It would be lunacy to play him against Barca in the Nou Camp.

In my opinion, if you keep posession against Barca, they get frustrated, and Eto'o, Deco, Ronaldinho, Messi, Guily and the likes rarely track back, allowing player space to operate in the midfield.

Moreover, when they (Barca) do eventually get the ball, they overcompensate, trying to beat a man too quickly...they lose their 'cool'.

If we have the majority of possession in the first leg, I think we'll at least snatch a draw.

I'd bite your hand off for a 0-0, or even a 2-1 defeat right now...
It sounds ****ing ridiculous, but I think I'd prefer a 2-1 defeat than a 0-0. Goalless draws away from home can be so dangerous - on the face of it it's a great result but any scoring draw in the home leg and you're out. An away goal in the Nou Camp would be magic.

                        I know.

I'm just really wary of 0-0's in the away leg, especially if it's the first leg. I'm sure it's bitten us on the arse in the past.

Imagine if we go to Barcelona and WIN.

I do know what you mean though about fearing the second leg after a 0-0 because as you say people think you've just had a great result etc, but the lack of an away goal makes it seriously nerve-racking!

                              Bellamy

Subs: Dudek, Hyypia, Aurelio, Pennant, Mascherano, Gonzalez, Crouch

That's probably our best line-up and it has a lot of flexibility, there's potential to play 4-4-2, 4-5-1, or 4-3-3 with those players. I haven't seen much of Barca this season so couldn't really comment as to what kind of approach we need to take but I suppose the one major thing is you've really got to watch their ball carrying players like Ronaldinho and Messi - can't afford to let them get into a rhythm.
WTF....they gonna wheel him on or something?

He's been in full training for a couple of weeks now.

The Barca home game is probably a more realistic date though...
