Not just him (Villa) though, there are many huge money signings that just don't adapt, and can we afford to really "buy in" top, top players that might flop? Is it really worth that gamble, and all that money?Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI think Villa ticks all the right boxes - it's just a question of him 'adapting' to English football. I'd be SO worried about spending a fortune on him though, simply because of the 'Morientes factor'.
IMO, no, one top signing per season maybe, topped up with rising stars from our own league that have proven themselves in the "English mentality" way and are still hungry for more.

It's obviously always been a factor when bringing in big money players (strikers, especially) from foreign leagues. Some, though, you don't worry about. Drogba, for example, was never gonna fail for a lack of 'adapting to the English game'. Same goes for Carew at Aston Villa. However, you do worry about diminutive sorts...for some reason. I do anyway.
Personally I thought Morientes would have absolutely no problem adapting. Shows what I know. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
