Choose the sword, and you will join me. Choose the ball and you join your mother, in death. You don’t understand my words, but you must choose. So… come boy, choose life or death."

1/ Someone who can put the ball in the fecking net.
2/ Two wingers who can cross the fecking ball consistently
3/ A left back
1....Villa, Klose or Huntelaar.
2....Alves and Kewell if fit or Schweinsteiger.
3....Lahm.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
Why Gamst Pedersen ? The only thing he offers is his left foot.
Scores a couple of nice goals, but thats it.. very limited player, and not what we need.
Premiership proven, Pace, ability to beat players, great set piece delivery from corners and free kicks and goals from midfield. All things we lack at the moment.
Depending what happens at Chelsea, i'd love to take Drogba. If Mourinho goes, then Drgba amongst others has already let the board know how unhappy he'll be. a £25m bid may tempt the new manager. Drogba is a top quality, proven premiership talent & is a cut above any of our currect players. Ditto players like torres & Huntlaar as well.
A true goalscorer. We desperately need one if not two. Until we sort this problem we'll never compete for the title. We need to bury teams when we have the chance, and we've failed to do it time after time after time...
next season. Three strikers that would offer us everything. Pace, excellent in the air, hard work, excellent in the box and excellent link up play.

I cannot stomach another season of underachievement in the league. Either we sign the right players in the summer and at least mount a credible challenge or I'm gonna cut back on football. It's all too depressing. I mean losing to Newcastle ffs

As I've said already, losing today is obviously disappointing but I'm not sure why you think this is "another season of underachievement in the league"? Look at our resources compared to Man Utd, Chelsea and even Arsenal and we are placed EXACTLY where we should be, i.e. consistently finishing third or fourth but still qualifying for the CL most seasons.
Indeed, you could easily argue the other way that we have overachieved in the cup competitions and winning the CL two years ago raised our expectations beyond what we are currently capable of - having the resources to win the league.
With Gillett and Hicks' money we can probably overtake Arsenal and possibly even compete on and off the pitch with Man Utd and Chelsea who - in financial terms - have both been in a different league for years. But let's not get carried away and think we will automatically win 'our' title back next season. I think it will be another two or three years before we can bridge the massive gap.
There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.
Rafa has moulded him into a player I barely recognise...
Hence why he won PFA Player of the Year with Rafa in charge??

Given our resources we should be finishing 3rd or 4th but we should be nearer to Man U than we are. look at it another way, we are 16 points off Utd & 16 ahead of blackburn. The financial gap between us & blackburn is far bigger than the gap between us & Utd.
