Bellamy missed chances but I thought he looked good today. Maybe he hould be more selfish. Kuyt was the poorer forward today for sure. My marks today would be:

Reina - 5 - had little to do, but really messed up for the first goal
Finnan - 8 - our best player. plain and simple.
Agger - 6 - lost his man a few times and needs to release the ball when he gets into a good position. might have learned a bit
Carra - 7 spent a lot of time covering Agger
Riise - 2 - Can anyone remember a positive contribution?
Zenden - 3 - In the second half he sat on the wing and watched. At one point Stevie was bursting forward on the counter attack and this clown was jogging forward...slowly. Really upset with him.
Stevie - 7 - tried hard but I think had too much ground to cover. Seems to have given up on the league
Momo - 7 - The usual Momo. Covered a lot of ground. Won lots of ball, but plays the wrong pass more often than not.
Pennant - 6 - Played pretty well but his crosses do not pick out a player and are lobbed rather than whipped. Peripheral.
Bellers - 7 - Good goal, was up for it and was our only attacking threat, but had enough opertunities to win it for us.
Kuyt - 5 - Poor today. First touch was bad and he gave it away a lot. Bad miss. Effort gets you a long way but quality wins the big matches.

Rafa - 4 -One down with 20 left. Crouch, Guthrie, Arbeloa on the bench. Who do you bring on? Worrying.

Thats Kuyt in a nutshell. He has nothing exceptional to his game. He's ok at everthing but excels in no one area. He's not quick, not great in the air & not the best of finishers. All in all, he works hard but isn't good enough. End of. Ditto Bellamy.

          Agreed

Kuyt is above critisism until next season lads - he is a fighter and he gives 100% - sometimes I feel that he is too anxious to prove himself - think back to his goals against the Chelsea and West Ham all that time ago (last month)

Balls. Crouch is basically guaranteed to miss a clear cut headed chance in every single game he ever plays.

Kuyt is a good player who absolutely works his socks off. With a bit of work and improvement he genuinely could be the real deal. No matter how much many of us like Crouch, I doubt any of us truthfully could say that of him.

I honestly can't believe people on here saying Kuyt isn't good enough. How long has it taken other players to settle in the prem.

If you're not an instant success then you must be ****, eh?

See Pires, Drogba etc.. for examples.

                      and Crouch.

I would sell Bellamy and Crouch before Kuyt.

I doubt that Rafa will sign three or four new strikers and that means that Kuyt stays IMO.

Give Kuyt a chance as a striker for a few games instead playing him in the midfield. Then we could judge him after that.

I don't think it's fair to judge a striker when the striker plays as a midfielder.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I'll second that. He's got 9 goals so far in the Premiership. That's not bad for a player in his 1st season at a new club.

Reina - 5 - Howler for their first goal
Finnan - 8 - Only player who looked comfortable in the conditions
Agger - 6 - Poor decisions in the conditions
Carra - 6 Passing was poor and really no distribution from the back
                            Riise - 0 - ****e
                            Zenden - 1 - I gave him 1 point for his shot.
Stevie - 6 - Some strange passing and should have dominated the game with his engine.
Momo - 6 - Great tackler. Nowt else really.
Pennant - 7 - Had a good game. Went past players repeatedly.
Bellers - 7 - Should have scored 3. Poor finishing cost us.
Kuyt - 5 - Thought he was awful today.

Rafa - 3 - Strange substitutions today. Tactically got it wrong.

If you can't see that Rooney is light years ahead of players like kuyt, then I give up.

I'm not knocking Kuyt because we lost, I've not thought he looks good enough since he arrived. Hard working player, yes, top quality player, no.
