Well, there isn't always such a causal link.

Here's one from the World cup...

Poor little lamb, that must have really hurt him.
Such an ugly face, such an ugly mouth.

I dont see what is that wrong with it.
Gerrard usually dives if there is contact made, sure maybe its not enough to put him down, but atleast there is contact, just like the champions League final for example.
Question, who here would have prefered if gerrard had stayed on his feet at Istanbul instead of diving?.
Keep up the diving I say, but just cut out the ridiculous ones.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

            * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

How on earth do you know my age?

For somebody with such self perceived wisdom, you do tend to say some rather silly things.
              Oh I don't know.

I don't understand this Macclesfield Town thing. If it makes you all happy, keep it up.

The quote you quoted doesn't seem very wound up does it?

I could start ranting if it'd make the forum a happier place. You know me, i'll do anything to improve the ambience of the forum.
