That pass today for Stevie's goal was class too...it's shame he's past it now but I think it's ****in brilliant we still get flashes of what an awesome player he was. Take those pens for example, was there any doubt he'd score? And tbh most of our other takers are distinctly dodgy...
So he`s scored 3 in open play against weak opposition.

i`m as pleased as anyone that he`s home and still contributing, hope he goes into the backroom for the next 40 yrs,he deserves to stay where he always belonged.

Reminds me of the long-haired **** who used to come on just for penalty corners for the GB hockey team at the Olympics a while back, Callum something?

I always wondered wtf went through his mind as he trotted straight back off to the bench after scoring.

Only players name I ever had put on any of my Liverpool shirts, which is why I was so pissed off when he left, and so happy when he came back.

If given a run of games, i am very sure Robbie Fowler will show a lot of people that he still has it.
2 goals 1 assist today, i say he is awesome.

He's clearly not the player he was, but not bad for a free transfer whether you have red tinted specs or not.

His ability warranted a return alone IMO as 4th choice striker, but when you take into account the buzz he brought to the club when he arrived and when you also note the fact that he is a laugh in the dressing room and great for morle you realise what a great signing he was.

Lets not forget his experiance either, hes been there, seen it and got the t-shirt.

I think he will leave in the summer but Id love him to stay on in some role. An experianced captain for youngsters in the carling cup and used as emergency cover to the first team as well as a role on the staff, a role like Ally McCoist has for Rangers would be nice, someone to keep morale up to let the players stay relaxed.
            Forwards.......

We should keep Fowler and Dudek and just wheel them on for penalties for and against us...

my favourite player easily. you can see the mind is willing but the body doesnt always follow. he is still deadly when given the chance. i will never forget that disallowed overhead when he first came back, i watched it about 200 times. he's a genius

I think the problem with Robbie is that he needs a run of 10 or so games in a row to truly develop his sharpness, and that's always been the case after his knee injury. We would see a much better Robbie Fowler if Rafa gives him a run of games on the trot and he's never been able to do that this season.

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is keen to find a long-term replacement for club legend Robbie Fowler.

Fowler's Reds contract expires at the end of the season and Benitez has admitted the veteran is still the club's best finisher after his brace in their 4-0 win over Sheffield United.

Benitez has hinted the ex-Leeds and Manchester City man could yet stay at Anfield, although should he leave an expert finisher will need to be acquired.

"If we create chances for him, we know he's a very good finisher, the best we have," stated Benitez.

"If he can score goals every game, we will see, you never know. But we have a lot of games to play so we can talk about his future later.

"But if he's not with us next season then we will need to look for another one like him."

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

fowler is god! his record is brilliant i would like to see him get more games because i still feel he can offer us more if he gets his fitness up.
I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.

Lets be honest, still the most natural goal scorer we have, regardless of who they are against. He can't decide who he scores against,he can only score in the games he's picked in,and to my mind he's done that quite well.

Spot on. He's PROVED that all this talk about pace being such a vital attribute is complete and utter toss. Still our best striker by a mile.

Can he actually play a run of games?

As for pace, although he was never really quick, he used to be a lot faster than he is now.

How many Premiership goals from open play has he got?

He's still a great finisher but as a player overall he's not what he was and I'm sad to say I don't think he offers us enough.
                                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
