I'll say it again..

Rafa doesn't have a ****ing clue about buying, selling, coaching, man managing or developing strikers.

Cisse, Baros, Pongolle, Mellor, Fowler, Morientes, Kuyt, Bellamy and Crouch...

There's a lot of talent there, yet Rafa hasn't been able to coax the best out of a single one of them.

he does focus more on the defensive side of the game, at least that's what his tactics point to

using valencia as a model of his ideal set up, there was much more emphasis on the defence and midfield than on the striker. but the midfield they had, from the wide players, attacking mids, defensive mids, was much better than what we can offer. the service to the striker was better and there was a threat from the midfield- baraja, albelda, vicente, aimar etc could all score.

slowly but surely rafa is building a team like valencia, all we need is more quality in wide positions and a better finisher. he's already got hte defence and gk sorted and the midfield and strikers are a work in progress. i think rafa deserves more time to sort it out, ultimately he will get it right

sorry mate, dont see a lot of talent there!! Morientes himself said the premiership was to hard......Baros the great(as if) Martin o neil couldnt make it work for him, i would argue him and cisse were uncoachable!!

Pongolle, doing ok in spain, fowler 10 yrs to late, bellamy, crouch and kuyt have done ok

While i'm inclined to sympathise with your point of view of Rafa in regards to strikers... i really think Cisse is/was uncoachable.

If Rafa can't coach strikers fine... get someone else into do the job.

I think the major flaw is the negative tactics, which in turn ruins their confidence.

The thing is Bob, I just cant think of a single striker Rafa has got the best out of. Rafa does tend to ruin the confidence of our strikers for example...

He dropped Pongolle after two goals against Luton, which kept us in the FA Cup

Earlier in the season Crouch was banging in goals for fun...what did Rafa do ? Stuck him on the bench.

There are numerous other examples.

goals to games ratio out of all our strikers, end of.

But its living in the past though isnt it? There isnt a person on here who desnt want Robbie to be the player he was 10 years ago but its not gonig to happen. He loks and generally is ****ed after 20 minutes. I see him after the match in the warm down and he can hardly run. Right now, he isnt the answer. It'd be better to either flood the midfiled and let Gerrard see if he can rampage forward since thats what everyone wants of him or persit with the front 2. If players need a run of games then, now Crouch is out, Bellers and Kuyt can be tried as a partnership. If it fails then it fails but atleast it will have been tried.

I can put up with AA and his 'End of the world is nigh' attitude no problem but you are something else.

I never thought I would say this to anyone but, go to the ****ng match and watch. You will see that stats count for **** all. You do not see everything. Opta doesnt sit in the stands and see the runs people make etc. Now shut up pretending you know what you are talking about and it is gospel.

We all know he's leaving at the end of the season, and with 4th place in the bag, and the players seemingly uninterested in hunting down Arsenal for 3rd, I wouldn't mind giving Robbie a few games.

I just love Fowler, when I was 12 or 13 he was my hero.

I'm still glad he came back, I was there when he came on against Brum and the reception the Kop gave him will be with me forever.

Yes rotating strikers is not something i advocate either. Especially when their playing well. He does it, i can't argue with that.

I laid into Rafa on this site for the very thing around early to mid-season and got labelled a sheep for following anti-Liverpool press rhetoric.

Rafa has his flaws, i have no doubt. But it;s wide of the mark to state he should be booted if we don't challenge next season. At the end of the day you have to improve on him and that would be no mean feat.

Let's hope with some backing over a couple of seasons we can challenge (and yes, i think it WILL take a couple of seasons before we are serious contenders for a league triumph).

If Robbie came off the bench in the final to score the winner against the mancs in Athens I'm pretty sure the rest of my life would just seem like one massive anti climax. It would be surreal.

Anyway, let's hope Roma knock the mancs out, losing in the final just isn't worth contemplating...it's not worth the risk of meeting them there.

Mate, he loses the ball all the time. Yesterday was the pits - he lost it almost every time he got it. Two touches - first touch and a tackle.

yeah he was bad yesterday, we all agree.

but generally he has been good.

Anyway, im referring to the fact that IMO he doesnt lose the ball that often from his first touch. I think it his second touch that lets him down.
