    Eidur Gudjohnsen?

    Barcelona have refused to comment on speculation linking Eidur Gudjohnsen with a move away from Camp Nou.

    The English media had suggested that Manchester United were ready to make an £8million bid to lure the Icelander back to England.

    Gudjohnsen departed the Premiership last summer when he quit Chelsea to accept the challenge at Barca.

    He was signed to replace Henrik Larsson and now, coincidentally, it is said that is what United want him to do at Old Trafford.

    Larsson has just left United after a successful short stint on loan from Helsingborgs.

    Despite still being in the running for the Treble, United have been left short of striking options in recent weeks with Larsson's departure - as both Louis Saha and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are struggling with injuries.

    Gudjohnsen has been limited to just 13 starts this season, but he has shown his importance with five goals.


    I've always been an admirer of Eidur, classy player.
    My only concern is...we need a 20 goal a season man, whilst Gudjohnsen would be an excellent signing for
    us i reckon, i'm not sure he's give us the 20 goals a season we badly need to push for the title.

      Yes, but he's a very good footballer, intelligent and links up the play very well. We could do with one player like him.

          He isn't better than what we already have.
          Just believe and you never know what will happen.

          According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

                Yeah, i'd agree mate, without wanting to turn this into an anti-Luis Garcia thread...if the choice was Eidur and Garcia to play off one of the striker or strikers, i'd no who i'd prefer and it wouldn't be the infuriating little spaniard.

                      He is a very good player - but I can't get past the fact that I hate is whinging screwed up face.

                          I´m not sure if he is what we need right now, but I´d like a fellow countryman at Liverpool, it would sell more shirts here that´s for sure. When he was at Chelsea it was always Chelsea this Chelsea that and everybody was wearing a Chelsea shirt. But I think he is definately good enough for Liverpool.
