there were times yesterday when he was ten yards behind riise and gerrard who were playing wide for us.
i think because of the way he plays he struggles when asked to play up front on his own
Parry is a clown. En Rafa que confiamos

Possibly the most hopelessly inept argument of all time.

I dont think you should just use 2 outcomes as hit and miss, he has been both in his time here, he has 11 in the league which is a fair return considering the amount of work he has to do outside the box.
Maybe he will finish on 13 14 which isnt too bad. We all knew he wasnt a 20 goal a season striker i rememeber all the punters when he was scoring and working hard saying if he works that hard and bangs 15 in we will be happy. Ok it has tailed off for him a bit this season be we havent been playing the best football for strikers to score goals, pennant has come on a bit recently so the sevice has improved, we just need to get a system going where players can get used to it, there has been alot of chopping and changing in the side especially upfront. I know Kuyt has probably been the most consistent plyed but he has a diffrent partner every week, and rafa is obviously telling him to pick it up from deep and link well, otherwise he wouldnt stil be doing it. He has done better than alot of strikers in there first season in the premiership so heres hoping for a better on next season. Our movement isnt fluid enough for strikers to thrive, half of our play end up with the opposing defence sitting deep and the wingers standing with their foot on the ball while the defenders get a chance to mark our strikers. Look at Chelsea and Man U and he goals they score they are all fluid moves which continie in a sequences ours isnt.

I disagree. When he stays up on top he is fine.

He just has to leave the buildup to others.

For me he is a very good poacher.

              Miss.

              Poor first touch.

Good work rate, but not enough quality and/or flair.

              Lacks pace.

Sorry Dirk, but to be challenging for the league/top honours regularly, we need someone who's a step up.

              Next....

I'm prepared to give him next season - same with Pennant and Gonzalez - to improve themselves and the team.

But it's abundantly clear that we are a better team with Crouch as the focal point of the attack. There's just no getting away from it.

He's scored 11 goals already and I think there is plenty to come from him till the end of the season.
He works hard, link up well and can finish. He has proved that so far.
Two parts of his game I would like to improve on
1- his first touch lets him down sometimes.
2-he needs to be in the 18 yards box more often, sometimes a cross comes in to the opponents box and there is noone there to receive.

I have no doubt that KUYT will be a much better player next season but for now he has done reasonably well for a first year player in the prem.
Agree with that, all too often he plays way too close to the midfield area for my liking. If he played further up the field, he could stretch the opposing back line more with some clever runs, and maybe open up some holes.

Agreed, because he does that well.

He's been a very big disappointment for me. I'm amazed he gets picked in the Holland first 11 ahead of horse face.

Poor first touch, finishing is average and never threatens goal. You have to ask yourself, if you were an opposition fan would you be concerned if Kuyt lined up against your side? The answer is no.

Unfortunately, thus far he's a miss for me

He's not been in the Dutch side lately - they've gone with Huntelaar as the main frontman with Kuyt on the bench.

I don't understand why Kuyt plays so deep...I don't understand why he's seen as a second striker. To play in the hole you need a bit of flair. You need to be able to thread little through balls, you need vision and a great touch.

Kuyt has none of these attributes.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

His main attributes are work rate and an eye for goal. He isn't a technically gifted player nor possess blinding pace. He'll be back up IF Rafa gets what he wants next season. I've looked at United's attack yesterday and they are ****ingly mobile and they have searing pace. Only Bellers can provide that to us at the moment and it isn't even sure if he'll still be here next season.

kuyt has showed glimpses of class but overall he has been really disappointing. I hope he can turn it around but i fear he's out of his depth in the premiership compared to the dutch leagues.

Started off promising, but has tailed off.

Will be interesting if he can step up next year.

Just out of interest....would anyone here consider selling in the unlikely event of a £10m bid this summer?
