    Another Owen link Never gonna happen. He's finished. Look at Fowler after his knee injury, never the same.
    Future is to look ahead not backwards, Owen is the past and he should remain the past.
    Milito is a bit of a strange link like. Do we need another CB, dont think. Hyypia still got 1 or 2 years to cover for CARRA & AGGER. We got Hobbs & Palleta learning the trade. I would dismiss the Milito link 100%. Lazy journalism.
    Love it if we can sign Eto'o but the SCUM been linked with him today and apparently he would prefer a move to old toilet. It could be bollox of course. Eto'o camp touting him to the highest payer.

        I don't think anyone really knows who we will sign.

        Lecter who has a very good record said that Eto'o is the number one target and Johnny H said that Henry is our number one target with Villa as backup.

        We have been linked with Tevez for a long time now and Torres is mentioned more and more.

        Rafa is doing a very good work to confuse everyone who want to know anything.
        Just believe and you never know what will happen.

        According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

          For RM we have the improving Pennant plus Garcia to come back. On top of that SG is bound to play his fair share of games there as well. Plus if we bought Ribery he can also play RM with either Aurelio or JAR playing LM.

          Even Eto'o and Ribery without Milito would be a highly succesful transfer spree imo. But what worries me is the fact that the Chavs and the Filth are also mooted as going for Eto'o. He for me would be no. 1 choice so if he decided to go to Chavs/Filth then we will be having to set our sights a little lower while they strengthen more again, which would make us about as strong next season as this season.
          We NEED to get the quality THIS year 07/08 that is of higher grade than both the other two ****ty clubs if we are to at least challenge for the title never mind win it.

              Huntelar, is undoubtably an excellent goal poacher, with a real natural instinct, but I dont think he is the kind of defensive (how ironic is that) striker that Rafa looks for.

                      Diego is the striker and he's decent.

                      For me though stirkers I want:

                      1. Eto'o/Henry (if the latter is possible)
                      2. Berbatov
                      3. Villa
                      4. Huntelaar

                      If none of these then perhaps we can make do with our current stirkers but get TWO quality midfielders who can chip in with goals

                      Simao/Quaresma/Ribery/Robben/Lennon/Sjneider/Iniesta (pipe dream...)

                      Be happy with any two of the above.

                          very very true... for a better part of this season he was played as a winger, although he isn't a prolific goal scorer like eto'o he still nets a fair share and creates a whole lot...

                          if tevez plays for us next season i expect him to out score our current strikers in the premiership....

                            on another forum theres an argentinan poster, witch said that tevez to us was in the papers over there, aparently kia and benitez have already struck a deal in principle. nothing solid just some paper talk from argentina...

                              I like all yer striker choices, getting one of them would be sound. As for the wingers I like Simao & Snijder( very good player for 8£ m quoted)

                                I agree. I think our best bet this summer in terms of strikers would be Tevez and Eto´o.
                                Those two would be awesome together.
