All I can gather is that Balague seems willing to link us to eto'o with revealing too much, that in itself suggests there is some truth in it, he also mentions other clubs though, which is a little off puttting.
Having said that, if we are genuinely interested, and Rafa desperately wants him, I think we will sign him, Rafa knows the player personally, plus the new owners will be eager to send out a message of intent that they mean business.
I'm still hopeful of us signing him, although I don't think we will be signing two superstar forwards, we wont be signing both Eto'o and Tevez for example, despite popular belief.

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

If we get other creative players I think Bent would score a lot of goals for us. I wouldn't want him to be our star signing but I would happily take him plus two gifted wide midfield players who offered a goal threat as our summer signings.

He is more potential than finished article but I think he has shown enough in a poor Charlton side to imply that at a better level he would do well. He is clearly about my fourth or fifth choice as striker signing.

I really hope not, it would be such a downer, although, we have been proved wrong before by Rafa. He knows how to use a players attributes to their best effect.

I think Darren Bent would be an excellent signing. Young, has pace, can finish and is English.
