. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
On SSN, when asked how they intend to take Liverpool forward, George got a wad of $$$ and Euros out and stuck them in the pocket of his jacket 'I expect there'll be some of this.....' he said.

GG and TH are NOT high profile owners. they do not meddle in day to day operations of their clubs over here in North America (I am a massive Canadiens fan as well) and when they took over the other clubs, it was a novelty in the press for half a season, and then they're gone. They are very upbeat, positive people with great minds for business when it comes to sprting franchises, and not for a "pump and dump" scenario, they truly do have passion in who they own, and feel it's a personal reflection on their business reputations if their teams fail.
After the transfer windows, I doubt you'll hear much more than you do about any other owners. Except for the fact that they are American owners in an English sport of course. The UK press seems to gobble them up moer than normal. Don't go making comaparisons to Glazier either, because he bought for the sake of owning, not for the passion and pride.
Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.
You think Gillett and Hicks bought Liverpool for "passion and pride"?
When did the Texas Rangers last make the post-season?
The new owners may or may not prove to be good owners for Liverpool but it's far too early to tell anything much except they are at least very good at handling the media. All the same I think it would be naive to assume that their interests are identical to ours.

True but considering the fact they have to put money in to buy a stadium the least we can say is that they see the club as a long term investment. To make that work they need to improve the squad now to insure continued on pitch sucess to keep revenues high in the coming seasons. I suspect this means that in the short term at least they will pretty much mirror the desires of the supporters.
I would also say that for all the doom and gloom around the Glazers takeover of United they did make cash available for transfers.

I wouldn't dispute any of that.
All this agreeing is getting tiring.
