wont dissagree but he still appealed for the pen when he actually just miscontrolled the ball and fell over, so still essentially cheating, but hey it got us a point, just dont think its quite "us" if you know what i mean.

After the game the ref said he knew there was no contact but still gave the pen cos he applied the exact letter of the law. It was a ridiculous pen to give, but it shows that Stevie G was right to appeal.Originally posted by lfcruleus View Postwont dissagree but he still appealed for the pen when he actually just miscontrolled the ball and fell over, so still essentially cheating, but hey it got us a point, just dont think its quite "us" if you know what i mean.Forwards.......

Kuyt has more goals, as does Crouch. Pennant has more assists. How is that pathetic. Get the blinkers off and open your eyes.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostI wouldn't class Agger, Carra, Reina, Finna or maybe even Mascherano as attacking players
But to say Kuyt, Crouch and Pennant have been more influential for the reds this season is pathetic.

defo Alonso for me...he hasn't stood out at all this season, he's rarely been above mediocre. Usually he'd have been one of the first names on the team sheet, but first he was in danger of being dropped for Momo and now he's been outperformed by a misfit from West Ham...he seriously needs to up his game next season.
Selling him last summer would have been unthinkable, now? I don't think anyone would grumble too much if someone came in with a big offer, and that's a massive indicator of how far his star has fallen.
I hope he stays and has a great season next year though, because when he's on form the guy is pure class - remember when he had people thinking Stevie was expendable?!"the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie"

For me a number of players have underperformed more than anyone else.
SG had a poor season by his standards, but him moving more central co-incided with our best premiership run of results, which also happened to be whilst Momo was injured. I think Momo, when fit was awful this season and looked nothing like last.
Xabi also had a relatively poor season, and Reina and Carra really started the season poorly.
Bellamy never adjusted, and Kuyt has loads to do to warrant a place in the team next season.
Taking all of that into account I think this 'award' goes to Xabi.
It's seems odd that many of our world cup players were the least effective this season, so hopefully a long rest this summer is exactly the tonic the lads need.
Next season i also expect that Rafa will have a far more settled and stable squad, and everyone will perform better.
