"Would you like to guess the last French player of the year we bought?"

So therefore any other french player will be crap? The sheer bollocks of your argument is not in the least unusual I'm afraid. Still, best phone Rafa and let him know who you want to sign, it must be easy enough eh?!

he was trying to sign alves and villa befor most of us knew their quality, that says something about him. also the garcia story, picking him up at tenerife, tried to sign him at valecia as well...

Anyway, we haven't even signed Malouda yet so get a grip, relax and let's just wait and see what transpires over the summer.
Drogba cost £24M - he should be good!

But for every Drogba from that league there is a Cisse and Cheyrou who are players of the year.

          Nunez and Morientes are gone.

Gonzalez is on his way, Bellamy will likely follow.

And be honest, nobody could have forseen that Morientes wouldn't succeed over here. He was as good as anything in Europe that season with Monaco. Still think he should've been given another season because of his track record, but that's another discussion.

As I said, Rafa will live and fall by this after the uproar he has caused this past week.
Listen to yourself it's only May 29th FFS! You got access to a time machine or something? :whatever:

I could counter that by saying "So therefore any other french player of the year will be good?"

              But I won't.

you're right. The board will judge him this year if he spend slots of money and us fans will too. He's had enough time to work out how the prem league works now. This is a massive year for Rafa.

Post this same thread on 31st August though - it will be interesting to see who our signings will be and what people make of them.

You are the one who claimed Rafa ****ed up spending 30 million on strikers who have failed and you'd have bought Owen instead.

He tried to sign David Villa from Zaragoza when none of us had ever heard of him and he's now rated in the silly money bracket. That was a good spot.

Same goes for Alves. Yes he's a full-back but he's an attacking player, does his best work in the final third and, when Rafa initially tried to sign him, he was a virtual unknown.

Like Villa, he's now one of the world's most in-demand players. Another good spot, I'm sure you'll agree.

nunez was ****e i'll give you that, but we needed a rm and we got him for free cause we were skint. bells was back up option cause we didn't have the money for propper ones. Morientes is class and it has little to with rafa that he failed, we all thought he could make it. and gonzalez was an exciting signing but couldn't up his game hence he's out, but we're still making money of him as we are selling him for more than we bought him, same hopefully goes for bells...

Sorry, (again), but he's contradicting himself left right and centre and acting all high and mighty with his "laughable comparrison" comments.

add Garcia to that list as well
