nothing but positives in that article then ffs

we've had some ****e summers recently but this one is shaping up to be the worst from the picture teh press are painting, at least theres still plenty of time to pull off some magic. the press are running with our perceived transfer difficulties, i'm hoping reality is somewhat different and behind the scenes things arent nearly as ****ed as theyre making out. doesn't make for good reading at the moment though

if these rumour are true it's a ******* joke. They must give at least 35 mil to rafa, plus the money from the champs league and the sale of bellamy 10mil, gonzalez 5mil ,cisse 6mil, Carson 5 mil. that come to a tidy sum, I'd say about 65+ mil. Surely it's not too much to ask.....
We couldn't ask for a better coach than Rafa, back him now, or end up losing him to Real next summer after we have ended up with another joke of a season 20 or so points behing utd and chelsea.

Has no one ever stopped to think it would be a little silly for the club to be making bold statements about the huge sums of money we are going to spend? Creating negative press about finances is creating the illusion we are not going to be taken for a ride with over inflated fees, Rafa knows what he is doing.
It is June 10th, Panic mid July if **** all has happenned, you can see from that article the papers know **** all, Eto'o is up to 40 million now and Inter are involved now apparantly, It was only us and AC last week.
It is all bollocks on a slow news day.

The clubs won't sell their players on the cheap. They won't care how rich we are, if we don't pay what they want then they will sell the player to another club instead.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Moores had a responsibilty to the other share holders to sell for a very good price. G&H would never have made an offer for the remaining 49% of the shares if DIC had bought Moores 51% IMO and that means that the other share holders would need to accept 4k/share instead of 5k/share. It's a big difference.

Even if Moores himself loves the club very much then he must think about the other share holders and for many of them 5k/share are a big difference to 4k/share.

How do you know why Moores accepted the Gillett and Hicks bid?

                      You must be telepathic.
                      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

what are you going on about?

if DIC had bought a majority stake in liverpool, then no, the two americans wouldn't have bought in, as without a majority stake, they would have little power.

you don't know anything about the deal, or anything about finance, so before you start sounding more stupid than you normally do, go back to the transfer section and post some lovely links to tribal football and the news of the world.

I didn't say that I know anything about the deal I only quoted the offered price made by DIC and G&H.

The thing is, when you strip aside all the fluff of excitement about Hicks and Gillette we basically know feck-all about them apart from the fact that they own some underperforming franchises in the US. It could be that simply in buying the club they extended their credit lines to the max. Nobody really knows anything. I've a sneaky suspicion that the "big" signing is Owen for 9 million, you can forget about tevez, henry etc.
