      Rooney and Tevez together are far more talented than the midfield partnership of Gerrard and Lampard.

      Just think Cole/Yorke, Romario/Bebeto, Shearer/Ferdinand.

        But Rooney doesn't lead the line very well. It's not what he's good at. His natural inclination is to go looking for the ball. Regardless of what he's instructed, he will always drop off and look to get involved.

        You say Bebeto/Romario, I say Messi/Tevez last week. Or Owen & Fowler.

        When Rooney is isolated or ploughing a lone furrow right up front, he gets frustrated and invariably sees red. It's happened time and time again and I don't think it'll be any different if he leads the line this season.

        Only time will tell who's called this one correctly.
