You are completely entitled to your opinion on any player of course ...but my opinion is that you lose credibility when you slag off a player when he deserves it (and Momo has quite a bit) but then the guy comes out and plays a stormer, which is obvious to 95% of people on here, ...and your still slagging him off. Also, no player in a red shirt shuold be referred to as 'a stain'. Just my tupence worth.

Yet we failed to score in a game we dominated. This is the first decent side we've faced all pre-season, at least defensively, and they kept us out as they did at Anfield last season. Gerrard apart we still lack a player who can unlock a defence, do that something special when we're lacking the quality in the final third. We need to sign someone like that before the season starts.

I only saw the second half today but from what I saw Momo was BOSS

Now I am not Momo's biggest fan, but today he used the ball very well and one one of our best players.
Let's hope he continues in the same way.

We won 3 cups when we beat Parma 5-0!!!
But I know what you mean pre-season results are not important winning in thwe actuals season is.

Today was one of Momo's better games. When he breaks up the play, closes down all over the pitch, does some good short passing and doesn't get involved with diving into that many challenges.

That said even the most blinkered Momo-supporter would agree that he just doesn't have the quality to play in an advanced midfield role. When he gets in and around the box the wheels come off and the play breaks down. I've lost count the number of times pre-season when he's been about 20-30 yards out and the pass has gone awry, the ball has got tangled under his feet or he has lacked the confidence to shoot and wasted possession.

The fact Agger has been more of a goal threat - both from corners and open play - than Momo speaks volumes.

the team is coming along nicely i reckon..we have 2 more good friendlies left in the Feynoord tourney next week + the 3rd round CL qualifier so that means the lads will get used to each other even more..you cant expect new mids & forwards to get used to each other off the bat..it takes time for mids to know where their striker are running so they can pass to them..same for strikers..they need to know where the ball is going so they can chase it..i have every confidence that once the Villa game ends we will be celebrating our first 3 points of the season

With new players bedding in, in oppressive heat and to make it worse extreme humidity and we made some good chances still we just didn't score.

To blow your first decent opposition out the water
Werder Bremen are a far better team the Portsmouth btw, check which one has won the league in the past 5 season and which one has consistantly qualified for the CL..... and we scored 3 against them and runners up in the Bundesliga
Auxerre consistent UEFA cup qualifiers to, Portsmouth arn't.

Pompey just sat back and played dirty.
                        Typical Redknapp ****e.
                        The new Bolton.

                        We didn't take our chances.

                        Not that it matters immensely.

I agree that at times he's been rather poor for us but ffs he actually had a good game today and many others seem to agree, yet you coninue to slag him off.

tbh you're starting to piss me off with your anti Sissoko posts. Give a guy credit when one deserves it and today Sissoko deserves it as he played well.
I honestly thought as an all round game Sissoko was very good today

Not just his usual hassle and harrying people then giving the ball away he actually passed the ball neatly and was involved in a bit of our attacking play today

He still looks bewildered when he approaches the box though...
                            Bless him.

His cross field ball to put pennant through was excellent
