Before you go off on one, I realise his spell with us, thus far, has been almost completely ruined by injuries, which patently isn't his fault.

Such a shame. I'll never forget dancing a little jig of delight on that beach in Nice on the day we signed him. I risked grave humiliation in front a bevvy of bathing beauties, all because I believed we'd signed "the final piece in the jigsaw".
Now that i can agree with.

TBH i am bit nervous for him. I have followed his whole career and it is time, and i mean TIME for Harry to perform or he could be gone. By that i mean from the premiership if he breaks down again. That will be a very great shame cos the player we signed had the world at his feet.

He will never be the player he could of been but he can still be very good for us if his rehabilitation has worked (and i believe it has to a large degree). What i mean by that is better than 05-06 and that is what i expect this year from what i have seen in the last couple of months. The fact he apparantly took it easy against Feyernoord doesn't bother me in the slightest. If he takes it easy against Villa it will.

Basically all i am asking is for everyone to wait till October before making such definitive statements. If he is fit he will play well, but if he stays fit for a couple of months with playing time he will only get better.

PS If he breaks down, get rid

BTW, I have based nothing on his performance in a friendly. I didnt actually think he was that bad in the game. I have based all my opinions on seeing him throughout his career, especially the part at LFC where he more often than not puts no ****ing effort into games and constantly refuses to take a fullback on because he prefers the easier option of turning around and laying it off to someone.:bird:
Firstly, he was a great player. If we had the Leeds version of Harry playing for us now i can assure you he would be regarded as a great player, FACT.

Secondly, you say he gives no effort more often than not. Yet Rafa is happy to play a 60-70% fit player on the LW for 42 games in 05-06. He struggled to get past his marker(s) but he did what was asked of him. Hug the left side, provide an outlet, hold the ball, and most of all, draw defenders. All the while SG was on the right scoring for fun.

Is it a coincidence that last year SG struggled to have the same influence on the right? Perhaps it was because the defenders could shut him out knowing they only had to deal with Speedy or Bolo on the left?

I suspect most managers in the league know enough about Harry that he needs to be watched. Closely. They do and they will continue to do so and if he is playing the chalk on the left it will stretch the opposition defence. That is what Harry gives us just by being on the pitch, even if he is 60-70% fit (or in your mind, putting in "no ****ing effort").

No, I am not young. Kewell has never been a great player. As for talent, you cant lose it when you dont have it.

Having a handful good games in you career doesnt make you great........end of story!

No. Is he from the other site? if he is i wouldnt know as i have never been there. TBH i am quite happy about that from what i have read. I have posted on YNWA and RAWK, under the same name (Skillz) although not for a while due to work locking me out.

PS Getting my own computer next week and will be online next month (early September) according to Telstra. I hope they meant this year, should have checked actually

Showed his goal against Arsenal in 2003 on Premiership years last night.

From what I’ve seen Harry always performed best when playing just off a striker rather that wide left. Was hoping to see some indication pre-season that Rafa might experiment with a 4-3-3 formation, but never noticed. Think this would suit Harry a lot more as pace wouldn’t be as much of an issue and would imagine Voronin, Babel and Yossi would also thrive in similar positions.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Why did you dance a jig when we signed him if you didnt think he was a world beater?

You didnt think he was great at Leeds but would be the final piece for us?

I've never said I didn't think he was 'great at Leeds'. That was Coops.

I thought he was going to be brilliant for us. But he hasn't been.

To be honest, I only keep it going because of the extreme over-reaction it appears to provoke in people like yourself

That is plain crazy to think Kewell had anything to do with Gerrard scoring all them goals.Gerrard did because he was in **** hot form and unlike Kewell was able to get around his man with ease in most cases and had the confidence to score. The bottom line for me is that he has had way more bad games than good. The same can be said for Pennant,Crouch,Kuyt even in there time here.
Then on the other hand you have Reina,Finnan,Carra,Agger,Stevie,Monster/Momo,Gerrard and Xabi(who is world class but needs to find his A game again). If we had a squad full of players like them, then we would be asesome.
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful

Problem is people can only count up on one hand the number of times HK has shown his worth and skill as a stand-out performer for Liverpool. Sad really. We need a fully fit 100% attentive in your face interested player beating winger on the left if we to really challenge for the title. It really would be the Second Coming if HK managed that.
