James Smithnwants to make the loan to Stockport permanent in Jan
Sounds like a good move for everyone, at age 22 he`s never going to make at LFC.
We might even get a weeks wage for Gerrard for him.

as far as i'm aware the deal has already been done, they had the option to buy and I thought i'd read they'd already taken it up, could be wrong tho

          Good luck to the lad.

Hope he makes a success of it.

Guthrie has been brilliant for Bolton so far I've seen him. He played quite well against Bayern yesterday

That's the kind of loan spell I'd love our fringe players to get all the time...regular games in the PL and a smattering of European experience against the likes of Bayern.

Certainly for those genuinely on the fringes of the first team squad. Too often we have sent players off for thankless experience at a lower level or an irrelevant league in the past.

However I think that each player needs to be treated as an individual and may need to have first team games at a lower level or in a different league in order to build confidence or have the chance to alter things in their game in a less competetive environment. With younger players especially I think the standard of coaching they will recieve at their new club is very important - I wouldn't want a younger player than Guthrie to be managed by Megson for example (I know he was loaned out under Lee who would have been a much better bet from the coaching perspective).

                        another one off to hereford

Scottish midfielder Ryan Flynn has joined League Two side Hereford United on a month's loan.
The 19-year-old reserve team player joins fellow Anfield loanee Robbie Threlfall at Edgar Street.

Flynn has yet to make a competitive appearance for Liverpool but he was a key part of the club's successive FA Youth Cup wins, scoring in the final against Manchester City in 2006 and bagging three goals during the 2007 campaign.

The loan will last until December 22nd.

I guess the fact that Graham Turner is the longest serving manager in the Football League (second only to Fergie if you count the PL) and the chairman makes it a good place to be sure of continued selection. According to my friend who watches a lot of lower league games they try to play decent football as well.

ex-Cambridge too. I believe they sacked him for running round the board room with his dick out at a club function.
