    Kuyt "needs to be dropped"

I really like the lad, we all know his work rate is top class, works his balls off every game but it's not enough. His touch again today was very poor.
Give the Crow or Crouchy a go up there alongside Torres, maybe even Babel if Rafa fancies playing him up there.
He's started nearly every game since he's joined us, now it's his turn to sit it out for a while until he rediscovers his goalscoring touch.

Thought kuyt was great first half, average 2nd half......Torres was the anonymous one in the 2nd half I thought. Pennant actually did well.

I like Dirk, but Crouch is a much more dangerous forward than Kuyt and will score many more goals this season.

I would play Crouch and Torres at Sunderland next weekend.

I thought he was excellent. Torres with the magic in the box, then Kuyt dropped deep to work his arse off and link up with the midfield.

He works hard BUT A striker is judged on his goals and he doesn't look like he's going to score. I'd like to see the Crow being given the chance.
            We come not to play.

If I were an opposition manager and see Kuyt in the team, I wouldn't be worried about him at all. Yeah he has some nice touches 60 yards from goal to keep possession, but he's as dangerous as a fly in the last third.

i thought he was good untill we needed a goal, he was perfect for the game when we were 1-0 up, but after they equalized and we needed a goal he should have been substituted he offers us little going forward, slows down our counter attack and simply isn't the intelligent footballer he needs to be, he's simply a work horse...

I thought the longer he played, the more he needs to be replaced, such is the effort he puts in during games, very hard to keep that level of chasing up over 90 mins. Crouch could have come on earlier for me.
It also seems obvious today, that Maureen is very uncomfortable with Crouch.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Kuyt plays like our 2nd attacking midfielder,i wanna see him on the end of a cross in the box,not collecting the ball 30 yrds out and passing it on.

yeah,,,I think voronin may be the missing link...a hard working deep forward but who does actually score. Play him I say. Mind you Torres and Kuyt played well 1st half in particular, lets get a partnership going.

Agree, you can't fault his workrate - but describe Dirk Kuyt without using the word 'workrate'. I like the lad, he gives his all, he's a team player and he did score 12 goals in his first season here.

But too frequently he drifts outside the box, and doesn't even look like he's going to score. You look at the top teams and you know that Drogba, Ronaldo, Lampard, Rooney, Van Persie etc all provide a huge goal threat. But Kuyt really doesn't. Sometimes his touch is poor and other times he looks neat. I can't help but think whilst he isn't a bad player, we'd be scoring a lot more goals with Crouch/Babel/Voronin. Perhaps he needs to be dropped/rested for more than one game.
