Kuyt "needs to be dropped"

Im just ****ing glad that its Rafa in charge and not one of us!
Also I couldnt give two ****s if an individual plays poorly as long as the team is successful..in an ideal world we would have a team of superstars (see Real for an example of why this doesnt work) that thumped teams 4-0 week in week out.
Not gonna happen, Ill settle, happily, for a team like ours who has style, spirit and hopefully a league title to show for it.

For what its worth I thought kuyt was great 1st half and merely ok in the 2nd. Well deserving of a starting place though.

It's hard to take people seriously in their criticisms of Kuyt when they clearly have an agenda. I can understand those that post on other topics but those that just wait for the Kuyt thread to appear and then post really should be chopped. What do they bring to this site. Differing opinions is fine, but it's as clear as day those that don't even take into account how the man plays before laying into him.

Well said mate I've been watching the highlights of our games over and over and Kuyt is involved in everything good.
I don't care if he doesn't score a bucket load I don't expect him to but I wouldn't leave out of my team.

It was a cool phase of Real's history bit it didnt really work out as they expected did it?

Anyway, it wasnt my point to be dissing Real, just to highlight that we dont necessarily need 11 superstars to be sucessful. And a successful team is far more important than whether or not we think a player or 2 arent good enough eh.

Fair enough. Those posts are there to be shot at - justcruisin in particular seems to have some kind of weird vendetta against him and actually appears to dislike him, something that I can't understand. I don't rate him too highly, but I don't dislike him. On the contrary, I like him. As I've said countless times before, how can anyone dislike someone who wears the shirt with such passion and commitment?

But still, dismissing any opinion that doesn't particularly favour Dirk is just superfan bollocks, IMO.

Shaggy you keep a fair and balanced opinion on the man but there are way to many who are willing to lay into him.
He's been one of the reasons we've started this campaign well IMO he has done really well and has again IMO been one of our better players.
Go back and watch the highlights if you can mate he's been involved in everything.

incredible that people think someone that starts for liverpool and holland is average. the fact remains that no one here is privvy to rafas teamtalk and tactics but i would assume that kuyt is following them to a tee otherwise hed of been down the road with the other 2 gob****es bellamy and cisse

The partnership he is forming with torres is about as exciting as it gets too. This is not just down to torres`s obvious talent as some would have you believe, but also due to the fact that dirk is a extremely intelligent footballer. Dirk will run through a brick wall for this club and still come out on the other side fighting, which the great shanks would have appreciated immensely.

I cant think of a better partner for torres in the early stages of his reds career and I bet Torres himself would be the 1st to explain to everyone that the reason he is finding it so easy to settle owes a hell of a lot to Dirks tireless work at pulling defenders all over the shop to create the room for torres to work.

Well I thought he was excellent against Villa and so-so yesterday. Yeah he's involved in most of our good stuff but equally a lot of moves break down at Kuyt's feet cos his touch is too heavy or his dire lack of pace means he can't get away from people.

The big plus is, as I've said, his understanding with Torres.

Yes it ****ing did work, they've won 3 European Cups and 4 league titles in the past ten years. That's outstanding. The 'Galactico' project DID work.

Absolutely mate I think it's the partnership to take us forward and you can be sure that nearly every one of our players would pick Kuyt to play.
Like I've said up above mate Rafa ain't gonna drop him to easily and he certainly ain't gonna get rid.
As Kev just said Kuyt is playing exactly as Rafa wants and that can only be good for the overall objective winning No.19
I really believe Kuyt is the new Finnan he got slated for a couple of seasons but look how most sensible people have changed their minds.
