I have to agree that Xabi has been not the same player we sigh 2 years back. His passes have been off n keeps losing the ball. I bet he would have learn his lesson this week from seeing M & M play.I expect a great performance from him if he plays on sat.

There are not too many players like Xabi in world football.
Pirlo from AC has an excellent passing range also.
If he was up for grabs then every top club in Europe would be in for him.
Alonso=geniusOh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful

If he calls you back, tell him i'm really pleased he's started playing well again. it's about time, even though one decent game doesn't represent a turn around, nor does it make up for the last 18 months of playing well below his standard. talk about knee jerk....Originally posted by paulcooper4 View Postcarheex, xabi rang me after the game and said to tell you to **** off.

Today proved something I'd been talking about in the week when I suggested Xabi could play a more attacking role very effectively if picked alongside Mascherano.
He CAN be a goal threat if he gets himself around the edge of the box. He's never a bona-fide, genuine holding midfield player.
Gerrard has a job getting back into the team.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Monster has to be in the team.He plays that role so well.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostToday proved something I'd been talking about in the week when I suggested Xabi could play a more attacking role very effectively if picked alongside Mascherano.

There is room for all 3of them IMO.Gerrard links very well with Torres and with Monster breaking up play and Xabi spraying it around we will be even better.Kuyt will have to drop out though

I think the point is, we now have enough quality to be able to change formations/tactics without weakening the team itself. Could we have done that under houllier??Originally posted by PostmanPat View Post
