I have to agree that Xabi has been not the same player we sigh 2 years back. His passes have been off n keeps losing the ball. I bet he would have learn his lesson this week from seeing M & M play.I expect a great performance from him if he plays on sat.

There are not too many players like Xabi in world football.
Pirlo from AC has an excellent passing range also.
If he was up for grabs then every top club in Europe would be in for him.

He CAN be a goal threat if he gets himself around the edge of the box. He's never a bona-fide, genuine holding midfield player.

I think the point is, we now have enough quality to be able to change formations/tactics without weakening the team itself. Could we have done that under houllier??
