My honest opinion that this is in all likelihood a tabloid rumour which the internet has allowed to take off. Why would Rafa spend so long fighting to get control of the youth academy and then get in a director of football?
I can't imagine anyone at the club wanting to undermine Rafa by suggesting such a thing if he didn't want it either."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

So mate when he called us the fans "clueless" how did you feel? Especially at the time he was pissing away money on alehouse players and we were playing absolutely shocking footie.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI do think he was a bit of a blagger with no real footballing vision or philosophy, and I don't think he's even a tenth of the manager Rafa is. Add to that his paranoia and penchant for unbelievably lame excuses, then I can understand where Niall's coming from.
It was the tipping point for me. Up until that point I was prepared to forgive him all of the above things you've mentioned because he did seem to genuinely care about the club.
As far as I'm concerned him and Rafa are like night and day. There's absolutely nothing he could do for Rafa or the club, nothing, except potentially spoil things.
And anyway it aint happening, I'm getting myself worked up over nothing. I'm off out now to enjoy myself.I hate Polanski

GH knows alot about football but his management skills may not have been the best.He is respected worldwide and would be a good man to oversee the youth set up and other football matters. If it's true then Rafa knows what he is doing.Gary Mc is the one I would love back hereOh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful
everyone wants to know
