Rafa and Pako need to swallow their pride, shag their wives and sleep on this entire ridiculous situation.
Ten years of a side-by-side professional and personal relationship cant just come crashing down like this. Surely they can work it out ?
If not let's bring in Gary Mac in the short term, while Rafa searches high and wide for an acceptable long term replacement.
Hey,maybe their wifes had a dissagreement.Which handbag,shoes,watch.Who knows?
Possibilities!

"A busy man at Melwood"

A strange day. As a committed fan of long-standing, I wanted to get to the bottom of this rumour/story. Hence I started this thread. When I found another poster, on another site, appearing like God to say 'Yes' then disappear in a puff of smoke, I was quite gobsmacked to find a number of people just accepting this announcement on spec, along with frankly quite sickening shows of deference and cloying gratitude. Took me back to the dark days of Dunk. But Shaggy Alonso chastised me on here for retaining a degree of doubt after the one they call Maestro had spoken. I was also informed he was very busy. So I noted, quite mildly I thought, that I'd keep an open mind until something substantial was proffered. Then the one they call Maestro demonstrated he was displeased to find that, on here, I'd said I was still unconvinced. That, for a busy man at Melwood, struck me as a tad pompous and over-sensitive. Then he complained again. That's my take on it. I HATE sycophancy. I cannot abide people who appear to bathe in applause. If any of you on here have felt maddened by the hassle from 'there', you have my sincere apologies. As for Maestro and his coat-holder, Shaggy, well done for getting your mates, sorry, servants, to dance to your petty tune. But I remain convinced you did the intrusive winding-up, quite knowingly. And you won't be getting a 'Thanks big man' from me. Pompous ****s.
But surely it's clear how desperate he was.I mean the signings of 2002 were,on paper, and world cup performances, great signings.Do you not agree?Ok Cheyrou,we new fck all about. But Diouf and Diao were outstanding and were really exciting prospects. And kewell, what a great signing he was on paper.Alot of people were saying he was the missing part in the jigsaw.
I think he became so negative and defensive through sheer desperation.
If only hey.
i think it's really irresponsible to sign players based on 4 odd games at the world cup, especially when you consider his experience in management. and didn't he pass on anelka in favour of diouf? it was well known in france that diouf had attitude and off the field problems. i don't understand why he even signed diouf as he only occasionally played upfront in his proper position. kewell i thought was a great signing, and i was excited about diouf and diao as most fans were at the time. but 5 minutes of watching diao and you could see what a limited player he was
cheyrou was hailed as the new zidane and never once looked anything like the great man.
i expected better from such a renowned spotter of young talent, he took alot of chances that summer and they all came back to haunt him

but it's easy to see the mistakes years on
I think maybe Wenger put him under a little pressure aswell.Unearthing all these little jems from France. He maybe felt that that was the way forward.

I expected much better from him to be honest.
I suspect he has realised he made a mistake, as this latest post smacks of trying to rewrite history to gain support imo.
Oh well. Nothing that matters much.

Not just the gems either. Wenger moved Toure to CB and was hailed as a genius. Ged then tried to do the same with Igor and we all know how well that went.
