FROM YOUR FRIEND AT KOPTALK.................Following on from yesterday's rumours that Pako Ayesteran was about to quit the club, it has now been reported by credible sources that the assistant manager will be on his way.
We caught up with Pako at Melwood to ask him if the exit rumours were true but he would only say "I love Liverpool FC". His exit comes following a series of disagreements with Reds boss Rafa Benitez.
Several players had complained to us 'off-the-record' that training sessions under Pako were too intense and during the summer Rafa altered them and that sparked the problems.

I'm quite gutted about this really. Pako always exuded this kind of absolute professionalism and dedication. Surely they can settle their differences?!
terrible news, backroom staff changes are never good for a club.

As much as Pako is respected and seems a top, top coach - Rafa is THE MAN. He's the manager, the one we all trust, and if Pako can't handle or doesn't agree with Rafa's changes then it's "thanks for your hard work and goodbye".
Whatever changes Rafa made to our pre-season this year has clearly worked (so far, at least). Onwards.
It seems important that we have started so well this season after Rafa tweaked the training schedules. I remember Crouch in particular talking about more ball work being done. If Pako is unwilling to have his area of expertise encroached upon then maybe long term this is for the best. Although it is certainly a big blow for us now.
I suspect we will have to replace Pako with more than one specialist coach though which is potentially a problem. Maybe for once we will be glad of the international break.
Like Maestro says at least we have had a full preseason where Pako works most effectively to condition players.
Has there been anymore word on the coach from Holland who was linked with a move yesterday?
