It was the tipping point for me. Up until that point I was prepared to forgive him all of the above things you've mentioned because he did seem to genuinely care about the club.
As far as I'm concerned him and Rafa are like night and day. There's absolutely nothing he could do for Rafa or the club, nothing, except potentially spoil things.
And anyway it aint happening, I'm getting myself worked up over nothing. I'm off out now to enjoy myself.
sorry it offended you but i'm no lover of houllier. he brought the treble (barely) but in the years that followed we went into a serious decline in almost every area. his constant excuses, the way he treated certain players, the way he pissed the clubs money down the drain, the dire football on display....do you need more examples?
He made mistakes but he was still very successful. Before he came along,we what had we won in the 90s.1 FA cup and a league cup.In just 3 years,we were in finals all over the place.Succesful at home and abroad. And yea,we at last had something to cheer and be happy about.
That was all down to him.He brought some fantastic footballers to this club albeit a few ****ty ones, but the success in those few years were enough to talk about him with a bit of respect.Of which you have shown none.
Did you not cheer at any of the trophy successes we achieved in those days?

Despite whether your pro Ged or not, i feel it would be a mistake to hire a former manager to work alongside Rafa. Especially one that left under quite a large cloud.
I would much prefer some up and coming coach coming in and Miller being promoted, unless Rafa already has someone lined up who's very experienced.
I really feel your a hot dog and whats for half time entertainment kind of fan. i've touched a nerve i see. i guess i'm not much of a supporter if i don't love houllier
read niall's post above, that sums up how i feel too
i loved what he did for the club culminating in the treble, but he undid all the good from that in the years that followed and acted like a fool in the process
edit: why did you edit out the hot dog part, that was funny

I shouldn't of judged you like that and i apologise ,have edited my post as you can see.
As far as Geds concerned,he gets a hell of a lot of flak on here, that i really think, that apart from the scum and arsenal, any other team would of definately swapped places with to have the kind of success that we had.

Btw,i really don't think that bringing Ged back is the forward either.Just for the record.

it's alright mate, i can see how you would think that judging from my unbalanced houllier views. he just really pissed me off in his last few seasons for so many reasons, it's hard for me to remember the good he did. but you're right he did bring some success after a barren spell and for that i am grateful. it's just hard to forget how he treated the team and the fans in the years the followed

But surely it's clear how desperate he was.I mean the signings of 2002 were,on paper, and world cup performances, great signings.Do you not agree?Ok Cheyrou,we new fck all about. But Diouf and Diao were outstanding and were really exciting prospects. And kewell, what a great signing he was on paper.Alot of people were saying he was the missing part in the jigsaw.
I think he became so negative and defensive through sheer desperation.
If only hey.
