The other thing that has upset him was one of our signings, Pako wsn't sure about him and felt it was a panic buy. Am not going to name which player.
I'm not sure that this is a player. I think it may be the new Goalkeeping coach (can't remember his name).

I don't think he ever played for a big side and he's an academic of sorts.

I was flummoxed when we bagged him.

      Let's be honest here

you are acting the ****ing arse because you have some chip on your shoulder

reading your comments on 6cm you posted inaccurate details, saying that the poster you have an issue with posted that he didn't know what was going on, and then "minutes later" verified that Paco was gone

It wasn't minutes later, it was 13 odd hours later, and his info was proven to be correct

As Polo illustrated, you're trying to dig yourself out of a hole and it just ain't working

this issue you seem to be trying to make about kissing arse - it's not about that

this is simply about what's right from wrong

So anyway, in between all this rambling **** I remember reading something about Pako being on his way, any more news on that then

Whatever changes Rafa made to our pre-season this year has clearly worked (so far, at least). Onwards.

I am getting the impression Rafa has eased off on the hard pre season training so the squad wouldn't be as tired as they have been in previous seasons. With PAco not liking Rafa not doing the fitness things his way.
PAco will be a loss anyway, I hope this makes Rafa closer to LFC.

I've had a couple of snippets from a lad I know who told me about unrest between Rafa and Pako a couple of months ago.

Pako has been sounding out a number of European Clubs for a job because he has become a bit disillusioned by Rafa's reluctance to take on board his concerns about the overall fitness of players at the club. When I say club, I mean from Junior teams to the first team.

He was unhappy with Pennant going out on the lash after the Chelsea game and reporting for training the following day boasting about his drinking exploits the night before. Gerrard apparently had a go at Pennant. Pako agreed but Rafa shrugged it off (personally, I can't see that being the case).

The same lad's nephew plays for one of our 'junior' teams who were recently on a European tour. The lad commented on how drinking and smoking was rife amongst the players (again, I'm dubious about this but this lad has called a few things right in the past).

Its not the end of the world though lads.
Whatever happens with our training, I am sure the team will be well prepared and Rafa will get in a new top class fitness coach.
Slur Alex has been through more assistants than I don;t know what, but it doesn't effect how his football is played. Plus, Fergie used his assistants for alot of their tactical knowledge, Rafa doesn't rely on them so heavily for this.
Rafa himself is very well qualified in fitness if I am not mistaken.

To be honest you never know whether these things are true or not. It certainly sounds like one of the things that Pennant would have done a few years ago but I'm sure that if this was the case Rafa would have shipped him out for this kind of behaviour because we've seen how ruthless he can be.

This whole situation proves how single minded and ruthless Rafa can be. He's prepared to cut his proffesional ties with his own right hand man and long time friend to do things his way.

I'm sure he'd rather not have done things this way but if it works out I'm sure it's something that he'll be able to live with.

I would have thought that Rafa will have a few people in mind for the job when Pako does leave.

Spot on, Bazza. Pako is a very good coach but he's not the only one out there and I'm sure that there would be coaches, equally as good, that would relish the opportunity to work with Rafa at Liverpool.

It's the short term knock on effect that could prove to disturb things at the club while the players get used to a new coach but I'm sure that Rafa will make sure that the transition is as smooth as possible.

There's also the fact that if this has been rumbling on for some time it's actually in the best interests for everyone if Pako moves on.

I trust Rafa and I'm certain he'll always act with the best interests of the club in mind.

I think Rafa has really fallen for Liverpool, the club and the city, maybe even more so than MAdrid, just a hunch.
He would never get the respect he gets here at Madrid, no matter what he won, rafa is a God here, and he knows it, he loves the way the fans worship him and the way his family seem to like Liverpool.
He has total control over all football matters and is now being backed heavily by the new owners.
I am sure he will have regrets about Pako, and Pako likewise about Rafa, I am sure both had valid points in their falling out as both seem reasonable articulate men.
If anything, Rafa has run the rule over Pako's fitness training regime, being the control freak that Rafa is. With the way previous seasons have gone, can he be blamed though?

to be honest, I would doubt the lads would be that stupid or naive after watching what happened to Riise Bellers this summer, he was only going one direction after the incident.

I agree, mate. I'm sure both will have regrets that this is the way that things have ended but nothing lasts forever and, like you say, so far Rafa has been justified in changing the pre-season schedule so that the players are fresh at the start of the season.

If Rafa felt something needed changing then he had to change it, simple as that. If he hadn't changed things and we'd had a poor start to the season I think he'd have regretted it big time.

Rafa is the manager and one of the best in the business and I'm sure that as time goes on we wont notice to much of a difference because whoever he brings in will be someone that he trusts 100%.
