Giving the rumours that are doing the rounds I really hope this is not true. Pakos gone from us but if he joins the chavs or manure he will lose all the respect I, and most of you lot, gave him

would he do that after 11 years with Rafa. It would have to be out of spite.

Would have to agree. I hope he goes back to Spain (or even changes his mind / fixes it with Rafa) and has a great career there, but I would never forgive him if he joined one of our domestic rivals.

If you were a partner with someone for 11 years and then you had a few arguments and decide to part ways what would stop you from joining the rivals?

Ayesteran forced from Liverpool over Mourinho friendship

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez fell out with assistant Pako Ayesteran because he was becoming too cosy with Jose Mourinho, it has been revealed.

The News of the World says the simmering row between the Liverpool management team boiled over after the Premier League clash with Chelsea at Anfield two weeks ago.

And it came to a head when Ayesteran walked out on Thursday.

Boss Benitez was furious when he saw Ayesteran hugging Mourinho and joking after the Londoners had pinched a point through Frank Lampard's controversial penalty.

An Anfield insider said: "That was about the last straw for Rafa.

"Everyone knows Mourinho is not his favourite person and when he saw Pako showing such affection towards him he saw that as blatant disloyalty.

"There has always been friction between Benitez and Mourinho and Rafa did not take too kindly to one of his staff joking with the opposition manager especially as he felt Liverpool had been robbed of victory."

This must be such complete and utter bollocks.

We're saying Rafa is so insecure and petty that he gets jealous about Pako being friends with Mourinho, that he is willing to sever an extremely successful 11 year partnership? Pull the other one.

actually i don't see it (if this happened) as so far fetched

we know from bascombe that the relationship has been strained for a few months
we know that there has been interest from other clubs- allegedly including the chavs
we know that rafa detests jose
we also know that rafa was disgusted with both the chavs and the ref after the game- can you imagine anyone connected with liverpool laughing with any chav member of staff straight after that game?

it's probably not the main reason for pako leaving, but as the article says, the final straw.

the article also says that pako refused to be in the team photo this year- anyone got one?
"At a football club, there's a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don't come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques"
