    Antwi on loan i think

Hobbs too raw for most games

It'll be Sami - coaches will have to work hard to sort the system and communication out

    Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves.'

****!! Sami makes us play a much deeper game and that puts unnecessary pressure on the team.

Agger injury is a particular blow. Xabi is obviously class but hopefully we should be able to absorb his absence a lot easier given the quality of cover we have in central mid.

true, I did think we should have gotten some temp cover in at CB before the window closed, even if it was just a 6 month loan or something.

needs must unfortunately. I don't think we'll play much deeper though - it'll just mean that Pepe and Jamie/Sami will have to be more aware of defensive positioning - leading to less attacks being started from defence, and more hoofs into the crowd. I don't think we'll see anyone beaten 6-0 for a few weeks but if they concentrate properly we should be OK most of the time.

Just remember Sami never had pace, and he HAS got good game intelligence. If he brings good communication with Pepe and Jamie to the plate then we should be OK

true, but neither has carra! lets hope Sami/carra's experience can guide us through thenext few games. Spurs and Arsenal gamaes are a bit of a worry, esp with the pace they have up front.

                  Heinze was briefly mentioned

Although personally I didn't rate him as CB Rafa must've thought he would've been able to do the job. I would think Rafa is mentioning this very point to Rick in the next meeting to discuss plans for January

In these games we'll end up playing a bit deeper than we may have with Agger. Personally I don't have too many problems with this. Sami has been a class act for us for many years, and can still be if we get the system right. It may not be trhe system Rafa WANTS to play, but as I said - needs must.

I think Arbeloa might be getting a few games as CB when we need a bit more pace with Aurelio leftback. Sami shouldn't be played an extensive amount of time due to his incredible lack of pace (positioning can only get you that far).

agreed, I wouldn't be surprised to see Finna Carra Arbeloa Aurelio/Riise (depending on fitness) at the back

Liverpool were left reeling from a double injury setback last night when it was revealed that midfielder Xabi Alonso and defender Daniel Agger had both fractured metatasals and will be out of action for up to six weeks.
