Don't get me wrong, he's improved a hell of a lot since January. But his last assist came in April - infact - does anyone have the number of assists he's got for us? He's also scored 1 goal in 60 odd matches for us. Not good enough really.

i agree on the assist front, but i think that's also down to our strikers not seizing on chances, Crouch and Kuyt in particular. I never expected a goal threat from him because he's never been that type of player, so i'm not going to moan about something he's never done, that's down to Rafa's choice of player really

I hope we sign this guy he is a player that we need badly,Babel is too raw.

Players like him that can hog the touchline get past players, full of tricks that actually make a difference during a match and CREATES chances for other players, we dont have enough players like that in the team

He's full of imagination and real quality that spark in the team that’s needed that Luis used to give us now and then and what Yossi does currently all be it not on the level that Quaresma does or Luis did in the big games when we needed something special.

Quaresma I’m sure is been tracked by many teams around Europe and its only a matter of time before he leave Porto I’m sure the summer will be the time.

I would love a player of the talent and skill of him he's a proper winger of which we haven’t had since Macca and before that Johnny Ba.

Well worth the 20 odd million he would cost.

I agree - not sure if we will get him , but we definitely need a player that makes defenders back off and can hold the ball without looking to pass it off straight away .

To be quite frank, I think it's bull****.

Quaresma won't make the difference man, especially at 20mil. I think there is a more underlying problem for unsatisfactory performances and this includes the manager and the whole team. I don't think just whacking Quaresma (who I'm not convinced of AT ALL) would make all the difference. During the summer it was Alves this, Alves that, then suddenly Quaresma's name turns up and it's supposed to be the answer.

I just don't buy it, nothing to do with uber observational skills or anything, it's just intuition - taking lots of other factors into account.

We're actually doing pretty ****ing well if you take past seasons into account. In the league - in comparison - we're ****ing flying (let's not get all uptight about the B'ham/P'mouth games) and actually look at the ****ing table.

In Europe we were bound to have a hick-up after such brilliant performances the past 3 seasons, I just do not believe that Quaresma is the 'missing piece of the jigsaw'. I think it's clutching at straws, otherwise he'd be our player by now.

I'm not going to go into little shenanigans about performances here or there, bigger picture stuff, I just can't see Quaresma being THAT missing link (such as, for instance, Ronaldo became for United), I just cannot see it. Dunno why, it just doesn't seem that once he'd be signed we'd be ****ing flying. It's a team effort and it just hasn't been all that the past few games, **** knows why, but it hasn't. Chucking a player at the squad won't change this fact.

I don't think he's all that ... Haven't seen too much of him to be honest, but every time I have, he is all show with little end product, a little like Pennant with better skill ... Can't cross from what I can see (which isn't very much) ...

Can't even get into the Portugal side over Simao at the moment...

Personally, I thought Mancini would do a job here, very good player the majority of the times I have watched Roma ...

Oh, and for the record, he's a somewhat over-rated show pony who disappears from many games and would not be any certainty at all to take to the premiership. £20m would be a huge risk. In my opinion.
