Thanjk you.

Is Yossi in need of working to round off his monthly debt? Was it an emergency that he played on Saturday? The answer is no. Case closed.
Fact is, if people are religious then their beliefs are to be respected. If not, then the employer will find themselves on the wrong end of an employment tribunal.
See post above fella. Yossi could have been an important member and we could have needed him. I guess that his religion is more important than his club & I accept that if anyone is comfortable with that.

maybe a way you could look at it is, job vs morals
now if your employer asked you to do something against your beliefs/morals would you do it just because they are your employer or would you value those morals/beliefs highly enough to say no to whatever they were asking you
Again we still don't know what exactly Yossi said he may never have refused to play, but this is the best thing i can come up with as a comparison

I don't think your comparison is right mate. As I stated before, religion should remain a personal issue, unless the organization is full of people of the same belief, therefore the collective issue prevails.
I don't have any issues with people being religious and practicing their faith in what way they see it fit, unless it is detrimental to the organization as a whole. It's a difficult issue and I think we won't ever reach a common ground on that.

are morals not a personal issue?

Of course we're never going to reach common ground on these things but i'm usually a very open minded person and try to see things from a lit of different perspectives but I can't for the life of me figure out the problems with him wanting to practice his beliefs
I just don't see any justification for such a lengthy thread on such a minute and miniscule 'problem', it seems everyone's giving it a go. I dunno, whatever
Shhh everyone, Sean doesn't think your comments are justified.
Yossi is a squad player, he's just one player. We have ample cover, and even should we have played the Mancs, his non-inclusion probably would not have rocked the boat.
Mate, try telling Yossi he's a squad player, he'll probably not agree if he has any self esteem. Even if it's the case, he should realize that he may be putting him further down the pecking order if his replacement plays a blinder. As I said, it's all to do to which thing is more important for him, and I have nothing against that if everyone is happy (within the squad & the supporters) about it.

When there's one individual involved it won't be a problem but if ever it was a case of 4 or 5 players needing to fast, it would mean postponing a football match. In that case also, if everyone is fine by that, there is no problem whatsoever but it's hardly gonna be an unanimous reaction in favor of it.
But it isn't four or five players so what's the problem?
Btw, I note you apologise for being ignorant - could you add it to your signature please in case someone mistakes you for having any knowledge about anything? I know it should be obvious to all but it might help avoid any unnecessary confusion.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
But it isn't four or five players so what's the problem?

:whatever:
This defies logic ... I rest my case. We should stop debating about sensible issues in here in the future. Either you get insulted (see posts further above - am not referring to you Neil), or you get on the wrong end of sarcastic remarks which serves nothing in the current context.
I'm probably giving this site too much consideration in the end.

RAFA! RAFAEL! RAFA! RAFAEL! RAFA! RAFAEL! RAFAEL BENITEZ!
I think the fact that I don't adhere to any religious views makes it difficult for me to understand fully the views of deeply religious people and I apologize for being ignorant mate.
I hardly take breaks from work and never ever take holidays for Easter etc, unless our company gives an extended break at Christmas.
fair enough mate, everyone has an opinion and is entitled to it.
I am far from religious, and when I lived in the UK would go to as many games as possible. i would however not gone to Saturday's game, nor would i have watched it on TV.
I still cannot get past that some people expect expect expect and cannot even try understand other people's perspectives.
ANyway that's their right and they're entitled to it.
For the record, Yossi, i whole hartedly support your decision!

Ah, poor fredo.
Remember, I like you. Well, sort of.
