**** the pundits, who cares what they think?Originally posted by leviathan1984 View PostYup, what a difference a week or two makes. When we beat Derby, pundits/press/media were saying how we look like real title contenders, and that we have a great chance of winning it.
Then a draw at one of the hardest away grounds in the League, and one where no English side has ever won, and now we're 'not ready to win the title'. :whatever:
We win 6-0 we're going to win the league.
Arse win a few games then they're going to do it.
Most reporting is short term and blinkered and written to sell newspapers rather than give an accurate picture.
Sensationalism sells, rational comment doesn't.
We all know we have the squad to win the league.
The fact that they are already writing us off is probably good as it keeps pressure off us.

Pennant, with space, short ball to Kuyt but his return is abysmal and Birmingham get it away.

Birmingham come forward, decent cross from Kapo just missed by Jerome who nearly got a touch to make it 1-0.

Rafa tinkers too much, i doubt any players are tired so why rotate Torres?

Babel with a driving run but, as is so often the case, our wingers feel the need to run into the middle of the pitch and his shot is dragged wide through a number of players.

We are playing very poorly against a pretty average team.
The biggest problem is the lack of creativity in midfield and that neither Pennant or Babel have done anything of significance.
Kuyt has been pretty poor and Voronin not in the game at all.

Winning the league is not about looking "frighteningly good" in every game, its about grinding a result out on the days when it doesn't quite happen.

Pennant on the right, wins a throw.
Gerrard through ball finds Kuyt offside who smashes the ball straight at Taylor anyway.

Carra from deep, Gerrard cross is hacked away from just in front of the Crow.
